First visit great, second? Bad. Long term? Horrible.

As a child I'd had good experiences with Pearle Vision, as they were one of the places I'd gotten glasses from when I lived in Colonial Heights. I decided that I could trust one at Midlothian, right? WRONG! The first visit was ok, since the lady behind the counter was nice & attentive. The store looked a little dirty & gh3tto, but the racks looked nice, orderly, & clean, so I didn't think anything of it. (Should have seen that as the first sign, though.) She showed good judgement in helping me pick out my glasses as far as appearance goes. I paid for everything up front, and all seemed well. I did recieve a call shortly after saying that I'd overpaid, but they were going to issue me a check. While that seemed a little odd, I thought nothing of it. After all, it had been caught & no harm done. Well, the second visit was when I went to pick up my glasses. The guy put them on me & I could have sworn that they were lopsided. The guy messed with them a little more, a little more, until finally he just stopped. He said nothing about them being lopsided, although it was obvious that he too thought that they were. I wish I'd said something then & there, as I'm ashamed that I walked out that day with glasses I'd spent about $300 on. (I really needed them to see, so I was afraid of not getting them that same day.) Needless to say, others noticed & commented on them. Now it's about 1- 1/2 yrs later & my glasses are quickly falling apart before my eyes, literally. Everything is falling off! I take great care of my glasses & until they started falling apart they looked brand new. Now due to all of the at home repairs I have to do, they look like I dug them out of the Goodwill bargain bin! I'm honestly afraid to take them back to the store for repairs, since if they'd made them correctly they never would be falling apart now. Instead I'm taking them to the ForEyes down the street in hopes that they'll provide better service.

Pros: some clerks are ok, ok selection

Cons: bad quality, clerks don't ensure quality, grungy store, may overcharge
