The Scene
A modern, thoughtfully designed theater complex in the heart of University of Richmond's tree-lined campus, the Center offers excellent, often unique programs found nowhere else in the area. Both Camp Concert Hall and the Alice Jepson Theatre make comfortable, acoustically satisfying venues for concerts, ballets, readings and dramatic productions. The world-renown Shanghai Quartet is associated with the University's music department and regularly performs at the Center. Just a few of the other performances of note include Edward Albee, Yo Yo Ma, a program of West African music and dance and a production of "A Streetcar Named Desire." The Marsh Art Gallery is located inside the Center.
