Kabuto Midlothian. If you like to wait over 30 minutes to be served this is your restaurant. We also had a coupon certificate that was purchased before we went to this restaurant that was not honored even though we had spent $26. dollares on the coupon. The restaurant owner was rude after staing why he would not let us use the coupon that was given by his company on a advertisement on the internet. I suggest run and dont go to this establisment. We stated we would report him to the better business bureau and he said he did not care. Five thumbs down

Loved the Ambiance and Food. High Recommend. Great place to go to have a good meal. Hadn't made it over to Kabutos before but I loved the ambiance. Very Japanese atmosphere with great decorations. Food was great and chef preperation was with taste and entertainment. Had a chance to taste some of the sushi but the original dishes were well worth the visit. Would recommend going for those seeking a good Japanese meal in an oriental setting in Richmond. Go try it!

I will NEVER eat there again. Me and two friends went to eat at this restaurant on a Saturday night and were utterly disappointed... First of all, the food was good.. and so was our server... BUT, we were the only three people at our table and they rushed us through to get another table in there... They performed NOO show... Half of the experience is getting to see the show... When we asked to speak to the manager about this she said that every chef is different and does different things... That was okay, we understood that... But when the chef came out to cook for another table he did the WHOLE SHABANG... flipping stuff in his hat... everything... We were not happy... So we called the manager back and said... he is doing a show for them... And she said... oh well, he does different things each time... All we wanted was an apology... She offered us free dessert and we turned it down... We paid just as much as everyone else did, and yet we did NOT receive the same service. Next time we have a craving for Japanese food... We will go to Kobe.... We were not looking to get anything for free we just wanted to be treated like everyone else in the restaurant, it would have been nice if they offered to take somthing off or even a gift certificate and i mean 10 dollars would have been plenty...

Always an entertaining experience: part show, part dinner.. The Scene
With two area locations, patrons on both sides of the river have grown to love this place, more for its creative cooking style than anything else. The Japanese restaurant has long been a popular place to bring out-of-town guests to watch the dazzling display of spatula- and knife-throwing by the well-trained chefs as they whip up Japanese stir-fry favorites.

The Food
A sushi bar will delight lovers of these traditional Japanese treats. Locals have warmed up to its healthy taste and fiery wasabi kick. Kabuto's stir-fry can be ordered with vegetables, chicken, beef or shrimp. The taste is authentic and the presentation spectacular. The service is friendly and the long tables that seat many patrons at a time can accommodate large groups.

Kabutos. Our experience at Kabutos was a pleasant one. Not only was the food preparation entertaining, but the food itself was the best we have had from this type of a restaurant. The staff was very professional and accomodating. The service in the bar area was slower than expected however the restaurant was very busy this evening.

Having fun. One of the best restaurants I have been to in a long time. The atmosphere is entertaining, fun and most enjoyable. The cooks have a wonderful sense of humor and are very personable. The food melts in your mouth and tantalizes your palate dont get there too late though or you may be rushed to finish your meal so they can close.
