Mixed review!. The first time I went to this resturant it instantly became my new favorite! I got the eggplant parm which is my favorite meal on the planet. Theirs is really good! I have been other times and wasn't as pleased as I tried other menu items. I am a vegetarian and find that it is difficult to find a really good sandwich at most resturants. As one review below states,"impossible to go home hungary", I'd have to disagree. I went for lunch one day in the summer-the eggplant parm would be too much for this outing so I thought I would try the grilled or roasted zucchini and eggplant sandwich. Boy was this a disappointment! Paper thin slices of vegetables, one or two-just enough to claim that eggplant and zucchini was actually present- between thick over-toasted bread. I think I dragged it through ketchup so that my bread sandwich would have some kind of flavor and a bit of moisture. Someone who works there, please try the sandwich for yourself! Then tell the management how lousy it is. The idea is a good one, just make the thing heeping with vegetables and some cheese and then you can call it a REAL sandwich!
Horrible Elderly Treatment. I took my elderly mother there for lunch at 2pm. She is handicapped, and walks with a cane. We requested a booth to accommodate her bad back and poor walking legs. The waiter said no, we are not a party of three. I asked the manager she also said no, not a party of three. I explained and they saw my mother on a cane, standing right next to me, hobbling when she walks. They still refused to accommodate her, so we had to leave. Horrible management! Horrible and insensitive treatment of our elderly. They should be fined. I will never go in there again and suggest that everyone boycott this place for its poor treatment of the elderly. Jerks.
Really Fun Place to eat!. This place is so cute! We loved going there and we've been several times, the staff seems to be very happy and helpful. The food was great and plentiful, it's impossible to go home hungry. We've been here several times and have had to wait for our table a few times, but it's a popular restaurant, so it's expected. If we aren't careful, we may become regulars here! LOVE IT!
Won't be going back. Ugh. It took close to an hour to get our food. The excuse after the first half hour was that the printer wasn't working properly and they lost our order. It took another half hour, with no excuses, to get our food. It was good, but by then I was over it. With so many choices in the Richmond area, I'll never go back. And I'll tell everyone I know how bad it was.
Visited this much talked about establishment for lunch with my husband and son. Thirty minutes after placing the order, we never received food and there was still no sight of the waitress. This place was not busy on a Saturday at 1:30 as evidenced by the fact that larger parties that were seated after us got their orders before we did. I went to the bar, complained about the awful service and nothing was done. No attempt was made to locate the waitress or check on the order. We were charged for our drinks and then the bartender asked if we wanted to leave a tip. I told her "Yeah, here's a tip. Tell the waitress to find another line of work." Suffice to say, we left this restaurant hungry and went to a chain restaurant elsewhere where we got served promptly.
I'm all for patronizing locally owned establishments but it appears as if bad service is an automatic given is Richmond, VA.
Good food. Good food, nice menu, a bit loud and noisy. Restaurant is non-smoking, but found covered patio a bit chilly. Service was a bit slow, but the restaurant appeared quite busy. I would strongly recommend this restaurant and will return. Good for families.
