Four Paws LOST MY DOGS! (Southside Richmond)
by Dogs123
I know this is hard to believe but I was on vacation and boarded my two dogs with Four paws on Southside. I received a call while I was away from MY NEIGHBOR that they had one of my dogs. Some kind soul had found my dog wandering through traffic on Courthouse Rd. and saw my address on the tags and returned it. The other dog was farther down the road a few hours later and that family returned the dog to Four Paws.
When I went in to Four Paws to ask how they had lost my dogs they said some dog had dug a hole and a bunch of dogs escaped. Later on when I called again to complain I had to remind them WHICH OCCASION this was of the dogs escaping.
They didn’t seem to be too bothered that both of my dogs could have been killed. The one dog was actually picked up IN THE MEDIAN on Courthouse rd.
If you love your dogs do not take them to Four Paws. I considered what action to take against them and I figured the best course to take is just to get the word about how negligent this place is. If I can save just one dogs life it was worth it.

The owners are in it for the money. They claim "no cages" IT IS A LIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All 4 facilites use crates and lie to the clients face. They withhold WATER from them while they are in crates. They give meds improperly and lie if there is an injury. If only people knew whats happening behind closed doors you would be horrified! they have a constant revolving door of employees and management because of how the animals are treated!
- Pros: the dogs
- Cons: horrible ownership
Be aware

Be Aware - - This facility takes in fostered dogs from the Richmond Humane Society that have not been through temperment testing. My dog was recently attacked by one of them.
Although FourPaws is covering all medical bills thus far, I think everyone should be advised that this business brings in animals that have not been tested for aggresion, and they mingle with your pet.
- Pros: FourPaws is paying for medical care
- Cons: failed to notify our emergency contacts when incident occured. They bring in fostered animals which have not been tested for aggression
