The Piano Club
Mediocre Steak, Plays Games about Non-Smoking.
I was looking for another restaurant when I thought I would give The Piano Club a try.
The food -
Salad - tons of plastic (clear) lettuce with a couple of winkled cherry tomatoes.
Ribeye Steak - ok. Nothing to write home about. Cooked correctly, and fairly tender. But not any better than what I've had in some steak-focused chains.
Desert - Creme Brulee, flavorless and poorly caramelized.
But the real capper of the night which completely soured me on the restaurant was that I was seated at a 'non-smoking' table, 4 feet from a the bar where smoking is allowed. I had requested a non-smoking table and assumed that the small bar was also non-smoking. But at the end of my meal, a patron at the bar lit one up less than 5 feet from me. When I complained, I was told by the manager (owner) that my table was non-smoking. This kind of game playing about non-smoking areas makes requesting a non-smoking table a farce. It is deceptive and dishonest. I ended up leaving before I had finished my coffee. Between the mediocre food and deceptive attitude driven by the ownership, I would not advise going to this place.
