I would strongly recommend against using All My Sons Moving and Storage. Our feeling is that they do not stand behind their work and are unwilling to pay for damage done to furniture or for items that are missing after a move.

They will hide behind their contract that says they are only responsible for damages of 60 cents per pound of items damaged. This clause would mean that for a 25 pound antique chair valued at $1000, All My lsons would argue they only owe $15! This clause was buried in the initial ontract signed when the moving day was agreed upon and the estimate for costs was presented. On moving day, All My Sons presented us with additional paperwork to sign specifying a $250 deductible. This company wouldn't move our furniture unless we signed the contract first. Thus, for approximately 350 pounds of furniture with $546.39 worth of documented damage, you might get no financial reimbursement.

Also I recomment you give no tips to the movers until you go through all boxes to make sure nothing is missing. You could mail them a tip later. In our case, $1084.44 worth of items were missing but the court and the company gave us no financial compensation...

hard working guys. We moved from a 2 bdrm house to another 2 bdrm house within Charlottesville on one of the hottest days in July. These guys were terrific! They made extra effort to get things up some crazy stairs. Even with the heat, they moved quickly and didn't take extra breaks. Of course, I made sure we had plenty of bottled water for them. But they didn't even leave the bottles laying around, they took their trash with them which really suprised us. Orlando, Phoott and George were very professional and courteous. The quote was right on and dealing with the office staff was very pleasant, no problems there. If we ever need to move again, I will certainly call on All My Sons in Richmond without hesitation.

THE WORST MOVE EVER. You need to be aware of the following:

1. Moving day the driver will show up with a contact stating that anything broken or damaged is on you, not the movers.

2. You will be informed that the crew "works for tips"and that the customary tip is $50 to $100 in cash per man.

3. The number of "free wardrobes" will not be close. You will have to buy your own from U-Haul.

Our movers left things in every room of every floor when they pulled out: big things like a wardrobe, a TV, a king-size bed frame. They also left cups and bottles that they had used all over. We paid to have them return to pick these items up. The crew members were hostile and again, pulled out without completing the job.

I have moved about 18 times: this was the absolute worst.

Excellent service and teamwork in Charlottesville. All My Sons Moving & Storage is an excellent company. These men were very comfortable to work with. Extra effort was given under very limited conditions. My mother moved within Charlottesville and we had a tight deadline with alot of rain and lightening going on at the same time. Eveyone remained working safely and she has not had any claims or damage to report. They worked extremely efficiently and well together. There was nothing I could mark as 'unsatisfactory' on their review paperwork. Thank you for making what could have been a terrible day a very managable time. We WILL refer you to others!

We recommend this company. We found All My Sons Moving in the yellow pages. The crew worked diligently with few breaks. We moved from our house (3500 sq ft) in Fredericksburg to a larger house in Spotsylvania (4200 sq ft). This job couldn't have been done more quickly. We had no issue with the final cost b/c the men worked so hard and were so professional. Rodney (crew leader and driver) remained calm and focused throughout. He was a good manager of the employees and has great people skills with the customers. We hope to never move again, but if we must we will call All My Sons Moving and request the same crew.

good recommendation. I am a widower and don't really have much. Me and my dogs moved into a new townhome here within Richmond. I was quoted over the phone (Matt has a great phone voice) and let me tell you he was great! I had found All My Sons in the yellow pages but have since written several nice reviews for them online. I was treated very well by Matt and Dominic in the office. The movers were really good and I would have them do it again. I would recommend them too. They did everything they said they would. All My Sons showed up on time, were careful and courteous, and there were no suprises at the end of the morning.

amazing!. I live in VA Beach and needed to move to a new apartment. Not too much stuff, just me in a 2 bedroom. I had everything ready to go! Terrance, John adn James were very funny and super nice! I enjoyed them all, amazing! :) They were fast, careful, and very professional. I would SO recommend them again. No problems with the bill, it was very very close to what was estimated over the phone. Justin DEF knew what he was doing when he was asking about what furniture/belongings I had. CALL THEM!!

HORRIBLE...KEEP AWAY!!. To follow is the feedback I sent to All My Sons. Their response was rude and completely unprofessional.

First, the crew you sent to our home was profession and courteous. Stevie, James, and Jeremi are assets to your company.

That said, I do have some issues with the the website stating "One of our moving professionals will come out to your home and conduct an in-home survey to determine the moving crew, equipment and packing supplies required."

No one from All my sons came to survey the home and the storage facility we needed to have moved. Everything was done quickly over the phone only. As a result, too few crew members and too few trucks were sent to make the move in one trip. We had to pay for multiple trips where we were essentially paying for more driving time. Had someone actually given us the "personalized service". As your website states "We are a service company that caters to each client’s needs with an individualized approach." In this regard, your company failed utterly.

Quote for service: Why would you give us a quote where the minimum hours, extra hour for travel, and fuel surcharges were not included? You state "Our professional consultants will quote you the best local moving rate possible and guide you through the entire moving process." Didn't happen. In fact, there are items still at our former residence which couldn't be moved since we were going so far over budget! So currently I am having to move the remaining shed and home items piece by piece to complete the move your company "promised" to complete in one trip on time and on budget. Are you going to pay me for finishing your job?

Your company appears to be better at empty promises and false advertising when it come to quotes and "personal attention".

So to summarize: no personal service up front, misquoted price to move, not enough crew/equipment to perform the job. Job remains unfinished.

Again, your movers were great and made apologies for the company. They are working like crazy and apologized for someone in an office! That is a true shame.

Easy and fun. We had a great crew and great experience! The driver and helpers were very nice and made our move fun. We moved within Norfolk and it was super easy. Nothing was damaged or stolen. We will highly recommend!

Happy with awesome service. I just had to take a moment to write how happy I was with my recent move handled by All My Sons Moving & Storage. The Virginia office was awesome! Nothing was damaged in my move from Newport News to Arlington. The bill was almost the same as the quote-very happy with that! Compared to the last moving company I used, this one was MUCH better. Thanks!
