Yes-I think the owners have written their own reviews because I can't imagine anyone going to this place and being happy when they left. Not only are the stylists amateurish in their skills but they have horrible customer service skills as well. I got a haircut and color with Marki and I too was embarrassed to even stop and get gas. When I got home my husbands first words were "What the !@#%^ did she do to your hair!" I had to get it all chopped off because the highlights literally fried my hair. It as a horrible experience. DON"T GO THERE!!!!!

Awesome staff. My husband and I go to see Marki for all our haircuts. It is always a great experience. The staff is friendly and our hair always looks great. Staff is very willing to work with you to make sure your satisfied with your haircut.

Hype doesn't match results. I agree that many of the previous reviews must have been submitted by staff or friends of the sisters/owners/operators. I got one of those haircuts where you are too embarrassed to even stop at the grocery store on the way home. Marki seemed to believe she had superior knowledge (on all subjects) and this really made it difficult to communicate. Plus the actual skill level didn't match the talk. I know it was my fault for not leaving when I realized this but I kept hoping that the positive reviews had been correct. I left with chunks sticking out in strange places plus one side of my hair was smooth and layered while the other was in kind of an uneven 2-layer flip. The 2 sides didn't look like they belonged on the same head, and, no, I had not requested an asymmetrical style- I even brought pictures. I realize I could have gone back and asked her to even up the weird places but it was one of those situations where I knew I would have more success getting another hairdresser to fix it because it would be difficult, if not impossible, to convince the Luxor stylist that there were any problems with her cut. At least my friends got a few laughs over that new do!

ALOT of reviews in 11/09?!. Maybe written by staff! Seems there are A LOT of reviews,all positive of course,written in a few days time frame.....think about it.

Top Knotch!. I found Luxor a few months ago when a friend got a fabulous haircut there. I had been growing my hair to donate to Locks of Love and was sure I had enough. On my first appointment with Marki, she took one look at my hair and informed me I would need a VERY short cut (the shorter my hair is, the curlier it gets) to get enough length. She also helped me realize the reason I was at the end of my rope was that to gain length I had given up on style. She created an excellent style for me that allowed me to continue to grow the length, and I left the salon looking like a goddess! SO happy I found them!

Expensive and my hair was fried!. I went to Luxor for highlights,new to the area and was hoping to stop my 6 hour commute to my lifelong hairdresser,anyway the colorist FRIED my hair!It was seriously breaking! My husband even noticed howdamaged itwas and he never notices hair,clothes,etc.Anyway I paid around $180.00,yep $180.00 and then had to drive 6 hours back to my regular hairdresser for her to correct the mess.Needless to say I had to have a great portion of my hair cut it was so bad! I called the salon and left a message for management and they NEVER returned my call! Did get a coupon on the mail a couple months after this nightmare from them but seriously,I wouldn't go back if THEY PAID ME!

Luxor Salon Saved Me from Hair Hell!!!. After burning my scalp with some horrible chemicals, I was scared to death to do anything with my hair.....and it showed!!! After a friend convinced me that Luxor Salon could help me, I gave it a chance and made an appointment with one of their expert colorists. She did an AMAZING job and all without harming my very sensitive, chemically tortured scalp! That was 5 years ago and I have never looked back!! I quite often get compliments on my color and I happily say "it's the Luxor Salon, they're the best!"

Even I like this place. On top of always cutting a great cut - I have a lot of fun catching up with Marki, MIa and their staff every month. They strike a great balance of professional and fun. Check them out - you'll leave smiling. And get a stress relief - they are a great break in the day.

Luxor is on the cutting edge. Luxor has always made me feel welcome. Luxor has stylist with years of experience, up to date knowledge and products, warm and friendly staff, and a fresh and inviting environment. I couldn't want more!
