Edo's Squid

Poor food, poor service. Food is way too salty, service is poor and uncaring. When I got the fried Calamari it was inedible due to the salt. I asked the waitress to bring another. The owner returned with the same plate and said "Thats how it is".

I just got up and left. I will never eat there again.…

Favorite restaurant in Richmond. I have been going to Edo's Squid for a long time. At first I was a little put off by the service and the loud space, but the food brought me back and continues to bring me back. I think the service has definitely gotten better over the years, and the crowded atmosphere is part of the charm for me. Every year for our anniversary my boyfriend and I consider a couple of restaurants where we can celebrate but we always end up choosing Edo's because it's just so delicious :)…

Good meal. This is a small, hole in the wall type of place. I thought the food was very good, especially the rockfish and pasta carbonara. The reviewers that say it is salty DO have a point. A little less salt would be good. I think whoever is cooking has a higher salt tolerance than most and doesn't realize that he or she is putting too much in. Just ask for a little less salt or no salt and add your own as needed if you are concerned.

It is a very busy place. Even with reservations, you may have to wait unless you are getting there at 5:30. There's not really a good place to wait either. People just hang out on the stairs. Personally, I would go early or late because while I like this place, I don't like it enough to wait on a dark staircase.…
