Definitely not recommended. My massage appointment started a half-hour late without explanation or apology, then was abruptly ended fifteen minutes early - again, without explanation or apology. Sparse waiting area, disinterested office staff. And I can't figure out why one one-st*r review and one two-st*r review make it a 4.5 st*r rating.
Definitely Beware!!!. The owner of Derma Spa, Margaret Covington, is being investigated by the police for fraud and slander. She scammed me and several others out of thousands of dollars.
I made an appt. at this salon as a last minute attempt to have my hair done before a big event. I did not know any of the stylists but had been there once for a spray tan and everyone seemed nice...even still, my gut was telling me it was not a good idea.
I had an appt. for the following services: all over color, 10 - 15 foil highlights, long layer cut. I had a brief consultation with the stylist, we decided on the colors. I was slightly worried because the stylist did not seem to agree with the colors I wanted. She felt the the all over color was darker than what I would want. Never a good sign.
After the all over color was on, I asked if I had time to have a pedicure and if there was a nail tech available for the pedicure. I also explained that I didn't really have any extra time and only wanted the pedicure if it could be within the time it took for my hair to process. They assured me that was no problem. I'm not sure what the nail tech did for the 45 minutes or so I was back there, but my feet were rough, my nails were mishapen and I could have done a better job putting polish on in the dark. In fact, I didn't notice how bad it was b/c it was so dark back there. I guess it was supposed to be relaxing?
Anyway, it is now getting late, and we still have highlights to do. The stylist puts the highlight color on my hair while it is still wet. Also she used about 30 foils - not 10 or fifteen - I also explained to her that my ahir will be orange if the color is not left on long enough. Which is exactly what happened. She kind of sort of cut my hair but it was barely a trim, not a cut.
I left with wet, dark brown hair with orange highlights. My toes looked like I let my 6 year old sister paint them.
The moral of the story...if a salon has to advertise 1/2 off discounts for all stylist and services, its not a good sign! There is a reason they are half off...and it's probably not good.
