Fabulous...Simply Fabulous! – I was reading some of the reviews for Flemings and I just cannot believe that these people were in the same restaurant that I love. My husband and I look forward to our nights out to have drinks and dinner at Flemings and everything I have had has been Wonderful. Some of my favorite items are the Seared Ahi Tuna and the Calamari appetizers. All of their steaks are incredible and just last weekend I had the Seared Ahi Tuna Entree...WOW! This restaurant is one of the top restaurants in Richmond by far and worth a visit.

Mark and Luke are behind the bar most nights and do a wonderful job if you prefer bar seating.

One last note...I tried their fresh berries dessert with fresh whipped cream....Fabulous ending. Try it!

One out of four aren't good odds... – Look, I almost never go out for steak because steak is something I can do well at home. But Flemings, in my experience, is marginally better than the other chains in the high-price steakhouse category so I elected to go along with the crowd. That said, on this visit, three out of four of the steaks served to our party were significantly overdone. I returned mine and it came back way overdone a second time. My fellow diners soldiered through their meals, not wanting to further disrupt the evening. I gave up, and the waiter did take the steak off the $400 check. Still, it was a thoroughly disappointing experience. At these prices, one expects and deserves total dining satisfaction. I'm not sure Flemings is up to the task. My advice... buy a Weber and grill at home. You'll be hundreds ahead...

Best steakhouse in Richmond!! – I just read over the other reviews for this restaurant and am truly shocked by the negative reviews. I have nothing but positive things to say about Fleming's. I have eaten at Copper Grill and their prices are higher, the waitstaff hovers, and the atmosphere is poor. At Fleming's you are treated like a millionaire. The service is incredible and the food is out of this world. My first visit was for my birthday and they took a photo and gave me a box of candy gratis. The price is about the same as Ruth's Chris but the food is better. Highly recommended for a special occasion. As to one of the reviews where the customer's napkin was folded, this is attentive service, not rudeness, and is something I have experienced at the finest restaurants in Europe.

And if you are going to Fleming's, ask for Megan--she is really special and will make sure you enjoy your visit.

Boring – A piece of meat in the middle of a white plate, looks unappetizing. They even forgot the sauce for the steak. Then they showed poor manners by refolding my napkin while I was in the restroom! Where did this rude practice start?! What did I get for all that money spent there? Disappointed.

Prime beef, a comfortable atmosphere and an extensive, user-friendly wine list are the signatures of this upscale steakhouse. – In Short
With a decor of dark wood, leather upholstery and soft lighting, this clubby steakhouse has a warm, upscale feel. The menu's focus is prime beef (aged up to four weeks), from bone-in rib eye and filet mignon to New York strip drizzled with bearnaise sauce. Classic seafood offerings include lobster tails, steamed crab legs and wild Alaskan salmon; sides, served a la carte, include baked potato and chipotle mac and cheese.

however, the second time, the steaks were not cooked as we orderd, the sides were cold, and service was slow

Good, great service – I love steak, and it was my husbands turn to pick our weekly date night restaurant. He picked Flemings. Its got a nice dark atmosphere (which I love), but its very loud. He requested a booth when he made a reservation, which they made sure they got us. The GM came to us mid-way through our meal to make sure all was well. The server was great. Caesar salad was so-so. The steak was good, but I thought Mortons steak was better. I had the seasonal pumpkin bread pudding for dessert and it was delicious. Of course, I LOVE pumpkin and I LOVE bread pudding, so you have to like that stuff in order to appreciate it. Overall, it was good, maybe even a little better than good, but didn't make me jump and down by any means.

Steak was mediocre – It's a nice enough place, but Copper Grill at Short Pump Mall is MUCH better - better food, ambience, service, and value. Note that they do not grill their steaks here. They broil them and put butter on them, like Ruth Chris. Copper Grill will really grill your steak - the way steak was meant to be eaten.

Anniversary Place – My wife and I celebrated our 44th wedding anniversary at Fleming's Prime Steakhouse in Richmond, VA.

My wife was immediately impressed by our server as she changed our napkins from white to black to avoid white lint from sticking to my wife's black dress.

Flemings has an extensive wine list; however, instead we started off with Manhattans. My wife ordered on the rocks. Mine was ordered straight up and was shaken and served at the table. Both were very good. We were served a complimentary tray of seasoned toasted bread slices and celery sticks along with butter and a tasty spread made with gorgonzola cheese, champagne and cranberry bits. This was a sufficient appetizer so we did not order one. We ordered the Portobella mushroom and spinach salad and requested it split. It was one of the best salads we have ever eaten.

For the main course, we both ordered the 8 oz. filet with a single side of Flemings potatoes. The filets were cooked perfectly. The potatoes were scalloped with additions of jalapeno and cheddar cheese. This combination was excellent and the single side was more than adequate for two.

Dessert was Creme Brule and was a complimentary anniversary gift. We ordered coffee with dessert.

Our server was efficient and friendly. She was assisted by a manager trainee who offered a flashlight to better read the menu and a stretcher at my request in case the Manhattans were a little too strong.

The atmosphere was nice but somewhat noisy. I understand that Flemings is thought to be frequented by business and date clients, but we saw several teenagers and families there.

The tab for our dinner was $103 + tipbut for the level of service and quality of food was worth every penny. The only exception was the drinks, which I thought were overpriced (Manhattan Rocks - $9.50; straight up - $11.00).
