CPK. – Do you like overrated resturants? Do you like paying too much for your food? Lastly, do you enjoy food that is so bland in flavor that you might as well be eating $17 worth of cardboard?
If you answered yes to these questions above, Congratulations! California Pizza Kitchen is the place for you. With their slow service and not-so-great prices you'll be thrilled to walk in their door and dine!
If you answered no to the questions above you actually have a brain. On a more serious note, eating at California Pizza Kitchen is damaging to your wallet. In this economy, people can't afford paying $15.00 for a small order of Mac&Cheese and one glass of Peach Tea.
Can you say, ridiculous?
Watch your pie bake in a wood-fired oven at this national chain with global culinary influences. – In Short
Founded in Beverly Hills in 1985, these eateries with the trademark yellow, black and white color scheme have spread nationwide. The decor consists of simple wood and glass with roomy black leather booths. The thin-crust pizzas come with innovative toppings from Asia, Latin America and the Southwest; signature pizzas like the Original BBQ Chicken and Jamaican Jerk Chicken compete with old standbys like pepperoni and traditional cheese. Pastas, salads, soups and sandwiches round out the menu.
CPK Review – How do you describe lifeless. Well CPK's pizza was exactly that. I ordered their version of the salad pizza on a thin crust. Honestly, the appearance was good, not excellent but good. The pile of salad ? appeared sizable, but the chicken was clearly not sliced completely. Upon further examination, nearly one-half of the lettuce was wilted. It was dry and tasteless. My thought was, how long had this lettuce been opened? This was just the start. For a "gourment" pizza establishment, I would expect a flavorful, moist pizza. My pizza was dry, hard and void of any taste. The balsamic vinegar I used for dressing was my only saving grace; it added more flavor than anything I received from the kitchen.
As I was sitting at the bar, I had a full view of the two "chefs." They manufactured pizzas like a factory, churning them out as fast as they could. There was no appreciation for the art of pizza making.
If you are looking for a gourmet pizza, I would find another establishment, especially at the $17 I paid for my pizza.
