Cages were nasty. Small animals lived in feces! Mice could not reach water they had to jump and hang on to water to get to it, many mice jumping on top of each other to get to it. Small animals were living in there feces the store reeked of feces. Prices on dogs were HIGH!! unless you plan on showing a dog ADOPT A DOG SAVE A LIFE DONT BUY!!
- Cons: cages need to be cleaned
Our experience

Every since I was a child we've had pets of every kind - this continued as I had my own child. Having instilled my love of animals in him, he had the great fortune to work at PetSmart and the Perfect Pets on Broad Street. I can certainly tell you that if he had experienced or seen any of the atrocities described here, he would have told me shortly after he quit. He had and always has had a deep respect for the owner and manager of PP, for their commitment to animals. I have been in and spent many a time in that store and can say with conviction that I have never found the store to be anything but clean. I have been to the back and seen the birds and they were never cooped up in small cages as told here. I have seen many a puppy there and was always impressed by how well socialized they were, healthy and amiable. A sign of a good breeder.
While they have had their problems, and hasn't always had the best employees, PP has always been the local store to go to, their affinity and love of animals very palpable.
ONE OF THE BETTER PET STORES

I HAVE BOUGHT SEVERAL ANIMALS FROM THERE AND THEY WERE VERY HEALTHY AND LOOKED WELL CARED FOR. I SAW HAPPY AND ADORABLE PUPPIES WITH FOOD, WATER, CLEAN BEDDING AND TOYS EVERY TIME I HAVE BEEN THERE. THE STAFF IS ALWAYS FRIENDLY AND AVAILABLE TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS. THEY ARE USDA LICENSED AND THEREFORE ARE BY LAW ONLY ALLOWED TO BUY PUPPIES FROM USDA LICENSED BREEDERS. USDA CONDUCTS SURPRISE INSPECTIONS TO MAKE SURE THE ARE KEEPING A SAFE, CLEAN AND HAPPY ENVIRONMENT FOR THEIR ANIMALS. I RECOMMEND THEM HIGHLY. THE MANAGER AND HER DAUGHTER ARE WONDERFUL PEOPLE.
