BEWARE! Wish I had the option of giving zero starts. We had an awful experience with regency moving. They damaged 20 pieces of furniture and made over 30 holes in the hardwood floor. The floors were resanded in our new house the week prior to us moving. We did use them for storage for a month while we had some work done to our new house. Half of our furniture was delivered to the new house unwrapped and not taken care of. Stay far away from this company. They do not return phone calls and have delayed submitting insurance claims for 2 months. Insurance company denied claim saying that it took to long for company to submit claim. Stay far away from this company. The owner Cliff lies, cheats and hires untrustworthy individuals. If you do use them and a man named Jose is the one in charge you are bound to have tremendous damage to your furniture.
Moving – I have moved several times and Regency is the best moving company that I have used. The estimate was right on what I was told. All my furniture was very well protected during the move. I would reccomend Regency to anyone looking to move
Packers Inflated Their Hours - very dishonest. – We hired Regency Moving and Storage Company (from Woodbridge VA) to pack and move our things from our old residence into our new residence. They charge by the hour and my complaint revolves around the fact that the Regency workers (packers) inflated their hours and therefore over charged me. Below are some examples of how the Regency packers inflated their work hours.
1) The packers empted unnecessary file cabinets (4) and wrapped /packed all the items into boxes,
* Note that during the visit when they gave me my estimate, they specifically stated that I did not need to empty out cabinets and dressers.
2) They wrapped unnecessary items such as aspirin bottles, magnets, pens, individual shoes, etc.
3) They ended up charging me for the .5 hour they spent eating the lunch I had bought for them.
Although I had signed off on their time sheet, I was not aware of the inflation of time until I started unpacking my items at the new house. It was very apparent that the packers were wrapping and packing unnecessary items to increase the total hours worked.
Although I confronted the manager (Cliff) about this issue, he stated that he would not give me a refund nor would he apologize for the misrepresentation. With packing and moving my total invoice came out to be over $3000 and yet he would not give me any credit (not even $100) towards the false and unsatisfactory work of his packers - no customer service (yet they advertise that they care about customer satisfaction). If you don't want a headache during or after your move, do not hire these people.
Regency Moving took very good care of our furniture. – The regency crew wrapped every single piece of furniture and the move went off without a hitch. They were on time and very helpful throughout the whole day. All the movers were polite and even took the time to put everything where we wanted it. We had used another company last time and the experience was not very good. Regency blew them away. If your moving and want a positve experience I would call them. They will give you a free in home no obligation estimate. Thanks Regency Movers.
Highly recommend this moving company! – This company completed our move under the estimate and there was not one mark on any of our furniture. Our friend had used them and told us how professional they were. They did not disappoint. Every piece of furniture was wrapped and protected. The office was a pleasure to deal with and the movers worked extremely hard the entire day. Would absolutely use again.
Super Moving Company – This is the second time we have used Regency Moving and I would highly recommend them. From the office staff to the moving crew they were courtious, careful, and a joy to work with. Everything was blanket wrapped and done in a timely manner. Finaly a moving company the cares!
Miscommunication and confusion led to us being screwed out of $400 and being confronted with mean woman – My girlfriend and her roommate hired Regency to move their stuff across town out of storage in Richmond, VA. Long story short, at some point the message that we were planning on moving out at 1PM (after driving down from DC) was lost in translation, and instead of correcting their mistake they instead decided to charge us for eight hours of labor and travel time even though the amount of actual work they performed was less than four hours. Additionally, when I went to their office in Richmond to ask them about this and see if we could come to an accommodating solution, I was greeted with a defensive, shrill, and outright mean woman who treated me less like a customer and more like a pest, lying to me several times about what was said throughout the transaction and making ridiculous claims like they only perform a single move a day and never give their employees time for lunch (so we should have been thankful that they didn't charge us for the time their movers were munching on subway sandwiches.) I would avoid doing business with them at all costs since they not only made a mistake that costed us several hundred dollars but also managed to treat us like garbage while doing so.
