I was pretty disappointed with this salon. I had been to the Williamsburg Salon Vivace and was surprised at how different the two salons are. This one has a much less relaxing atmosphere. It is on Cary in Carytown and you sit in front of a window with everyone on the street passing by and looking in. It's just a very ugly, bare salon on the inside. Bright, fluorescent lights and tile ceilings.

They use Wella hair dye, which I am not a fan of. I've always used Aveda before. I was also somewhat unhappy with how my hair was dyed. I wanted highlights and then just the base touched up a bit. She seemed to not understand what I was wanting and it came out looking really rough. I had really dark roots with way too light highlights. She did re-do for it me and ultimately I'm not entirely displeased with the end product. But I was there for 2.5 hours. And I felt like it was overpriced. It cost me $140 for just the highlights, touching up of the base and a trim. I've never had to pay that much. I looked up the pricing before I went and what I was charged did not match what they post online. They used cheap dye and did kind of a shoddy job. Can't wait to go somewhere else and get it fixed right!

Wonderful service!. I have looked for over a year to find someone to style my hair...someone with knowledge and skill. Melanie Dunn is that person at Salon Vivace. She offers advice and takes the time to help me understand how to style my hair. Excellent service and products.

Be sure to aks for a facial with Teresa Wyatt!. My sister set up an appointment for me to get a facial at Salon Vivace. I consider myself a spa connoisseur and have had numerous facials around the world. The staff was friendly and gave my sister and me some herbal tea while waited for our treatments. Teresa, my facialist, was EXCELLENT! I cannot speak for the other the services but I was extremely happy with my facial. The only cons to this day spa is that they did not have amenities that I have to come expect like a steam room or a sauna. When I come to visit again, I'll make sure to make an appointment with Teresa!
