Don Papa Grande Great Authentic Mexican Food. Don Papa Grande is a great well known secret in Chester Virgina. I love the way the resturant had such a great authentic mexican feel. I felt like I was in Mexico! Especially with all of the waiters and cooks talking and laughing in thier amazing foriegn language. I often even laughed when I didn't know what they were saying. And loved that my waitress resembbled Dora the Explorer I suggest eating there once a month especially if its your birthday beacause you can expect a huge margarita from your barista...When rating this resturant I say Hola!, Beunos Noches, and Swiper no Swiping

Not true to authentic Mexican food. I had the opportunity to visit this restaurant for the first time on 1/20/08. I?m a big fan of Mexican food especially after living in Southern California for many years. I ordered the #16 from the menu which was a beef burrito, enchilada, beans and rice for $7.80. Well I was more then disappointed when the food arrived. There was tomato sauce and American cheese on top of my burrito and the beans looked like it had been put in a blender (let?s just say I could have sucked it through a straw). I asked if I could have my order done again but without the tomato sauce and cheese. Well when it came back the second time the beef now looked as if it was put in a blender for far too long. I ask for guacamole on the side for my burrito. I was expecting just a little for free instead I was given a small bowl which contained about ? cup. I was charged a cool $3.25 for that. When I told the server about the Mexican food in California she just brushed me off by saying that tomato sauce and American cheese is how ALL Mexican restaurants serve here in VA. Well if that?s so, I?ll stick to what I know and not try Mexican restaurants here again.

Good. Don Papa is good as Mexican goes, but it is a small restaurant and the menu isn't as extensive as maybe it should be. The food it good and the service is always good, but there is almost a waiting line , because of its small size. They are fast, so the wait isn't usually very long. If you don't want to drive to Colonial Heights to Don Jose, then I would say eat here!
