The master plan at The Hollows is now complete. The golf facility, located about 20 miles northwest of Richmond in Montpelier, opened its first nine in 1984. Two years later a second nine was introduced. A third nine came on line in 1996. And a new clubhouse made its debut in 1998. The original course (Lake/Road nines) is long and open on the front side and increasingly tighter on the back. The white pines and Leyland cypress trees planted along the fairways back in the mid-80s are just now starting to mature, and can affect shots that drift too far left or right. The new Cottage course is much tighter and demanding. All three courses can be mixed and matched.
