Spring rolls are the best I have ever had!!!. The spring rolls are home made and AMAZING!!! ask to dip them in dumpling sauce = YUM. Sushi and Hibachi is always good! My husband and I have been going to Osaka for 3 years now... considering how far behind Richmond is I would say this is a very good place to get sushi!

Not good. Not worth your time/money/energy. I took my husband here because it was my turn to pick the restaurants for our weekly date night. He has really been craving sushi, and we have only lived here 2 months, and have yet to have some japanese. I came onto Citysearch to find the best reviews on sushi. Osaka had them, so we decided to try it. We walk in, and it took our server (Sara) 10 minutes to introduce herself and come to our table. Next I wanted the Hibachi filet mignon that was on the menu. When I ordered it, she claimed that I was not allowed to order anything from the Hibachi menu because it was busy in the Hibachi room. WHAT?!?! Then, I decided to order chicken teriyaki, and asked to substitute the white rice for fried rice. My servers response: "We don't offer fried rice in the evenings" You have GOT to be kidding me?!?!!? It was Saturday night!!! I was striking out as I was ordering. My husband ordered some true sushi as his meal. He was very disappointed with his meal. Finally, every Saturday it is IMPERATIVE for me to order dessert. On top of that, the meal I ordered had dessert included. After Sara took our dishes away,. instead of asking if we wanted dessert or coffee, she simply hands us the check. I gave her the check back, and told her "No. We want dessert." She eventually gave us the dessert menu, and my options for ice cream choices were Red bean, green tea, and mango. What about simple vanilla???? Nope. Wasn't on the menu. We ended up deciding not to waste any more time here and sacrificed dessert. The whole experience was a TOTAL disappointment. Dont waste your time.

What a let down!. Wow! What a disappointment! I heard good reviews of Osaka Steakhouse and saw this site and was excited to try it. We were really let down. My wife had a nice glass of wine, and I had a $7 glass of straight soda water after ordering a vodka tonic (and the waitress was not able to correct this for some reason.). Our waitress brought our miso soup, which was pretty good, and a terrible salad. Two minutes after these were delivered, my wife's teriyaki chicken came out. Presentation was fine, but the taste was less than satisfying. About 12 minutes later my dinner was delivered, and my wife was almost done with her meal. The sushi was mediocre - I've had better fast food sushi than this - but the spicy tuna roll was pretty good. I overheard other customers saying "I've never had a spicy tuna pate roll, but it's not bad." All in all, it was a let down and not worth going. If you want good sushi in Richmond, Okada is not the place.

Not that great.. As someone who spends a considerable amount of time in Japan eating sushi, I consider myself pretty well versed on what good sushi is. Osaka is a pretty restaurant with a wonderful interior design scheme, but the service is pretty bad and the sushi is only average at best. There are at least two places in Richmond with better sushi and two more with sushi at a similar level. Their calamari appetizer is very good though.

new to Richmond. I am also new to Richmond, from NYC, where there are some fantastic sushi, but I have to say the sushi at Osaka is outstanding, just as good if not better than what I'm used to in NYC.

The sushi master there is the most creative I've seen & tasted!

I sure will be a regular there.

The BEST in Richmond. After moving here in late 2002, I searched high and low for sushi! This place has it all. Service is fast and friendly. Staff is excellent. I've had sushi in about 11 different states and this place has no equal. You can order customized rolls, if you desire, or have a favorite not listed.

The food is fresh and very well presented. Again, this is the place to go for sushi.
