Richmond snobbery at its worst. I went
into the Sycamore Square store on a summer day in shorts and flip-flops with my 2 (well behaved and quiet) children. My husband had bought me a diamond pendant and I was willing to pay up for a nice silver chain for it.
I felt the employees avoiding me from the time we stepped in the store. When I went up to the counter and asked to see some silver chains, the lady didn't even pause in her conversation with another saleslady when she reached back and grabbed the "sale" rack of chains and set it in front of me. She didn't bother to show me anything in the case or offer information on any of the chains. I got a one word answer for most of my questions and STILL no one looked me in the eye or bothered to make conversation. The store was almost empty, so they certainly weren't busy...just must have figured what I would spend wasn't worth their time. I love to shop local, but not at Penelope.
