Coming soon: A bigger, better meeting space for the 21st century..
The Facility
When the Richmond Center formally reopens its doors in January 2003, Richmond's slice of the convention-circuit pie is expected to increase dramatically. Once the $125-million expansion currently underway is completed, the Center will boast 180,000 square feet of exhibit space, divisible into four separate spaces that can accommodate multiple conventions at one time. Conventioneers will also be able to use 32 meeting rooms and a 30,000-square-foot grand ballroom overlooking Broad Street (which is already open). The Center has meetings booked in the interim, so little momentum should be lost.
The Amenities
The Center, which takes over five city blocks, features such services as a business center for copying, faxing and other needs; a cafe and full banquet kitchen; VIP suites; registration concourses; and two parking decks.
