Patrons line up for the restaurant's controversial and famous Ghetto Burger..
The Scene
Two catering chefs specializing in Southern soul food opened this hot spot to showcase their popular fare. A family recipe turned into the star menu item. The popular and controversial Ghetto Burger defines the restaurant.
The Food
For some folks, it's the best burger in town: cooked to order, a messy half pound of meat, grilled onions and green peppers, cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayo on Texas toast. A monster side of sweet potato fries (dusted with cinnamon sugar) makes an interesting combination not available at standard burger joints. Blue plate special dinners with Southern soul food veggies (corn pudding, collards, limas, cabbage, macaroni and cheese) are popular with the lunch crowd. The five-flavor pound cake is another authentic family recipe.
