Editorial Review for Radius – by Carter Trumbo

The Scene
Billed as a restaurant and a New York-style nightclub, one look tells you it's more early Miami Vice than Manhattan. An eerie blue light casts shadows on slick surfaces while bluish-green swirls of color dot the walls. More mood-setters: a waterfall over the entry and a sleek bar and miniscule dance floor set the mood for young Don Johnsons to be lounging at the bar with blow-dried hair and scuffed espadrilles.

The Food
Forget the traditional breadbasket and butter. The server arrives with a basket of crusty homemade breads, a carafe of grainy pesto & herb-flavored oil and a plate of shredded Aziago cheese. The small but creative menu includes Black Angus beef, Long Island duck and several interesting seafood combinations. The lobster, shrimp and lump crabmeat sauteed with artichoke hearts, chives and roasted shallots is served in a rich cream sauce over angel hair pasta, but bland lobster meat proved a bit disappointing for the $25.95 price. The Angus beef tenderloin is impeccable and impressively presented. Desserts are homemade and change weekly. If you get lucky, the fudgy chocolate apricot torte will become a constant.

User Reviews for Radius

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

This could have been a great restaurant, However it seems to have gone out of business for several years!?!?!?!? Thanks to CITYSEARCH we set out with friends in search of this dining experience, only to realize we were grossly mislead by this poor poor website. If you are looking for a reputable search engine, LOOK ELSEWHERE!!! As this website will be sure to ruin any planned evening. CITYSEARCH B L O W S! btw, the City Bar is a great place to eat if you find yourself roaming around E Main St. looking for some restaurant you found on CITYSEARCH that has expired in 1985. CITYSEARCH: UPDATE YOUR WEBSITE, YOU'RE WASTED SPACE.

Pros: SOUNDED LIKE A GREAT PLACE

Cons: IF ONLY IT WAS STILL IN BUSINESS

2 Star Rating: Below Average

The place stays empty, and contrary to what the author says, it caters more to the 'gangster rap' crowd. Food was bad, and way over priced, and the drinks were just as expensive. They stop serving food about 8PM as the DJ, which plays all rap music began to play music so loud you couldn't even speak. Great place I guess if you like rap music and gangstas

Pros: Good location, friendly staff

Cons: , Rap music, Questionable crowd

More Miami Vice than Manhattan, this restaurant/nightclub casts an interesting shadow in the Bottom.  See the full editorial review.
