What to Expect
Cross the bridge to Brown's Island and you've suddenly reached one of Richmond's best landmarks. When the area isn't being used for local concerts or events, it serves as a great outdoor area to hike, bike and picnic.
Where to Park
For big events, there's a parking lot directly across the street from the bridge that costs $3 to park. If you want free parking, try for a spot along Canal or 5th Street.

When it comes to catching some good music under the stars, Brown's Island wins hands down! There is plenty of room to spread out and shake your groove thing. If you just want to see friends, the far end of the Island serves up beverages where you socialize in a relaxed atmosphere. Richmond's club life has a lot to be desired when looking for a good band venue. Brown's Island fills that void in the warmer months. Too bad our ski coats aren't enough to keep bands coming all year long.
Pros: Lots of space, Short beer lines, good acoustics
Cons: Poor parking, Not heated
