Nice Park.
I cannot believe you have to pay to get in here! The trails are nice and offer a great running/walking scenery. The pool is nice if you want to take a dip. The mosquitos are bad, but it is nice to see deer in the fall. The park is really a great retreat!

Minutes from downtown Richmond, this popular park provides welcome relief from hot summer spells..
In Short
Near Virginia's capital, Swift Creek forms the nucleus of the park, which is centered in a wildlife management area. Hiking, biking and horseback riding are popular activities in the park. The campground is all electric, has water hook-ups and is centrally located restrooms with hot showers, grills, picnic tables and lantern holders. Swimming and boat launches are free for overnight campers when available. Each campsite has a steel fire ring that can be used for cooking and campfires.

Running.
I lived by this park for 3 years adored running the loop around the park. I compare all other parks to this one.

Do your homework....
This park is truly deserving of it's stellar rating but if you are visiting during summer 2002, the park pool will be closed for renovations all summer. The pool was recently noted in USA Today as one of the ten largest public pools in the U.S.
