Editorial Review for The Georgian – by Citysearch Editors

The Scene
Since 1924, this elegant restaurant in the Fairmont Olympic Hotel has provided a grand setting for memorable dinners. Its opulent decor and four-star service create a distinctly posh, regal atmosphere. The crowd includes locals and big-business types hoping to impress their clients. Hotel visitors round out the scene in the sophisticated terrace bar and luxurious dining room.

The Food
Seasonal menus feature some items that rate low in fat and calories, such as smoked salmon carpaccio with beluga caviar relish and seared scallops with melted baby leeks and truffle dressing. Mostly, though, decadence holds sway. Among the appetizers: lobster and Dungeness crab cocktail with heirloom tomatoes, seared duck liver, caramelized cauliflower soup, and butter-boiled spot prawn. Entrees include rack of lamb, roasted sea bass, sauteed scallops, and roasted venison loin. Among the fine showy desserts, the Grand Marnier souffle stands out.

Little imagination for this class of dinning. Dishes are either overpowering or tasteless. The side dishes are the mostly the same for all meals. Best part of dinning is the platting. Seattle has much better choices.

Pros: Ambience

Cons: Food

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

I've been wanting to write a review about this restaurant as it has become one of my favorites. From the food to the service....everything is exceptional and not to mention the price. I love it!! One of the best in Seattle.
