Best Mexican Food in the Tri-City area. The food has great flavor and who can not resist the white sauce and chips. I have been going here for the past four years and the serviceand food has always been fast and hot. You can not ask for better location on the Blvd.

Nice prices for good food and service. They only had booths that fit 4 people, so any larger parties will have to wait extra for them to organize extra tables. The place was pretty small, and the atmosphere could've used more mexican flavor like better music, decorations, etc. The prices of the food is excellent for what you get. The meals were really tasty, as well as the free chips and dip. The food came out pretty fast considering our party's size. Recommended for a casual dining experience.

Great Place. I have been to this restaurant at least 50 times a year and will continue to go and probably increase that every year. I just love their service (waiting is never long) and the food is the best. No one in the Richmond area beats Don Jose for the Mexican food! I have tried most all of them and this is the one I keep coming back to.

Mexican Lite. While this restaurant does an overall decent job of presenting your standard Mexican menu, I felt the food here was a little bland and "Americanized". Not enough of an authentic mexican flare, a little watered down. There are some other Mexican restaurants in the area that provide a little more of a varied menu and an authentic environment. The ranch dipping sauce that comes with the nachos, in addition to salsa, is an interesting item, though.

LoftyVenus. If you love Mexican, you'll LOVE this place. This is you're Nirvana Mexican lovers! Even if you don't like hot and spicy food, or if you do, this place has got it all. Adult bev.'s, unlimited homemade chips and dip, empecable service! A+!

Speedy Gonzales. Even when there's a wait at Don Jose, you don't wait long before you're whisked into a booth. The waitstaff is very attentive and the food is delicious. I recently moved to Richmond from Texas and this food is almost as good as the Mexican food in Texas. Ole!
