Editorial Review for Mahi Mah's – by Lori Surago Logan
The Scene
This casual spot on the lower level of the Ramada (right on the boardwalk) attracts a diverse crowd, from 20-somethings in jeans and T-shirts to executives in chinos and blazers and sports fans clamoring at the bar. All enjoy a friendly, nautically inspired atmosphere and a spectacular view, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the sandy beach and crashing ocean waves.
The Food
For starters, try the calamari--a heaping portion, lightly fried and served with stone-ground mustard or fresh marinara. Landlubbers shouldn't pass on the tender 16-oz. dry-rubbed New York strip, prepared perfectly to order and served with caramelized onion and grilled portabella. The crab stuffed jumbo shrimp is butterflied and stuffed with fresh crab meat, sauteed in lemon, butter and white wine. Mahi Mah's also boasts the beach's freshest sushi bar with a variety of hand rolls and piece combinations.

Our family went there this Thanksgiving. They had a special Thanksgiving buffet for $25.99/person, and we saw good reviews about Mahi Mah's, so we made reservation for that night. The food tasted okay, but definitely not worth $25.99, no sushi at all, just some baked salmon and seafood soup and Turkey. The worst thing is I found hair on my plate from two different dishes, my husband told the waiter to take the plate away and that I can't finish the plate because of those hair. The waiter took a look at it and said "yuck" and made a face. While I was just sitting there taking a break, the manager marched to our table said in an arguing and loud voice:"The thing you found in the dish is not a hair, it's from a brush!" We were shocked, but we didn't want to ruin our Thanksgiving dinner, so we didn't argue with him. But neither the waiter nor the manager appoligized, or even smiled or seemed sincere. At the end they charged 18% tip automatically, even on their manu they stated that they only charge it for more than 5 (or 6) people, and we only had 4 people. Because it was Thanksgiving night, they were taking advantage of people.... We paid and left thinking we'll never go back ever. The next several days we went to many other seafood restaurants that were much better in value and service.
Pros: location
Cons: really bad service, average food, expensive

We were ignored at the door and not greeted by anyone. When we tried to sit ourselves we were told that we had to waitwait (1) to be seated and (2) for a table to be available. I explained than no one had greeted us and showed them that more than 70% of the tables were unoccupied. I felt unwelcomed and as if the restaurant was doing me a favor for letting us stay. The food was just OK and the entrire experience deplorable. Shame on them!
Pros: Horrible service
