Spas >Ava's Day Spa
Awesome Day at the Spa. This was my first all day spa experience and I had a wonderful time. The staff was great, they treated me like a queen. I got a massage, facial, mani and pedi, lunch, and my hair done!!!! They really made my birthday/Mothers day really special. I walked in with heavy burdens and I felt them lift as I entered the door. I will definitely become a regular for their facials , Wanda was very knowledgable. I had a wonderful day at Ava's!!!!!!
Nice job! Love them! They are soo nice there. Fair prices for the good work!
A Great Place For A Full Service Pampering.
I have gone to Ava's for several years now & I am welcomed like an old friend by the staff as well as Ava.
Ava & her staff are eager to please & I have always left from there feeling appreciated, as well as receiving top service & feeling truly pampered.
You can find some adorable outfits for cruises or a fun night out as well as get a wonderful massage by highly skilled, professional staff.
Give her a try! You will be pleased!
AVA AND HER EMPLOYEE'S ARE CROOKS!. This is my 2nd TERRIBLE experience with Ava's. My 1st was in 2005 and Ava tried to rip me off when I booked my bridal party there for a relaxing "spa day". Ava was completely RUDE and had NO concern for the fact that I was disgusted with how I was treated and taken advantage of. I vowed to never return. This past Mother's Day, my husband got me a gift certifcate for a full body massage from Ava's. Bless his heart, he meant well and had forgotten that Ava's was banned from our services. But he had already bought it, it's been 6 years, so I figured I should give it another go. WHAT A MISTAKE!!! I called on Tuesday to book a massage and the lady took my name and said there was availability Wednesday (yesterday) and to be at 5pm. I work 8-4:45pm pm and said I would be there at 5pm. When I walk in, I was taken back immediately from the atmosphere...wow, it's really a dump and I couldn't even tell who worked there and who might be potential customers. This man finally asked if he could help me, I told him I had a massage scheduled...he gave me some ppwk to complete and asked if I needed to use the restroom (of which I did). After returning, I was directed from this woman to a back room. As we chatted, I verified that the massage was 60 mins and she said "normally yes, but for you today, it's 45 minutes only since you were 'late'.. I questioned how I was "late" when I arrived at the time (5pm) that I was told and she informed me that I was supposed to come 15 minutes early (which I was never told) and that being "late" has now taken away from my massage time. Immediately, I felt the same feeling I had in 2005. Completely taken advantage of (once again). I got undressed and under the blanket and looked at the clock when she walked back in to start the massage. It was 5:15pm. As she started massaging me, she continued the confrontation asking when I booked the massage, who I spoke with and that they should have told me to come 15 minutes early blah blah blah...so much for a "relaxing" start to a massage???!!? Come on!!! So again, (in a very calm fashion) I explained that I was never told to be there at 4:45 and that this was not my fault. She dropped it after a few minutes and proceeded with my massage. It took some time after this for me to relax but eventually I did and the massage turned out to be good. Until she stopped, left the room and I looked at the clock and realized that she STILL only gave me the 45 minutes instead of the hour!!! Seriously??! I got dressed, walked out and the man that 1st greeted me asked if I wanted to leave a gratuity. I looked at the woman who gave me the massage and said calmly "we talked about this and you were supposed to give me an hour massage and you still only gave me 45 minutes". Apparently, she had talked to the male and given him the scoop b/c immediately I was ambushed by BOTH of them saying how I was "late", then I used the restroom etc etc and that massages started ON the hour! AGAIN, THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN HELPFUL TO HAVE KNOWN WHEN I MADE THE APPOINTMENT!!!!!!!!! I explained that I was never told that and that my husband paid for an hour long massage and I only received 45 minutes...they could care less and just kept telling me how it was MY fault! They said they'd have Ava call me in the morning...(and I thought: for what? She's the culprit of this shady place and has NO concern what-so-ever for the happiness of her clientele!) I left feeling tense, mad, taken advantage of extremely upset....so much for that "relaxing feeling" you're supposed to have when entering and leaving a spa. These people are crooks, unprofessional and rude and it's mind boggling to me how they've stayed in business this long....do yourself a favor and NEVER (I repeat NEVER waste your time or money on this joke of an establishment)!
Going through the motions - Not so European Facial. I've had minifacials that were better than the European Facial at Ava's. I was explained what would be done, which included shoulder neck and face massage and extractions as necessary. The message was a half-hearted check the box that missed whole sections on one side. I left with a greasy face and a nose and chin full of blackheads. Not a single extraction was completed and I could see dirt in most of my pores. I asked about why no extractions were done and was told that I didn't need any. I could see from the review mirror of my car that she was incorrect. I was asked three times to write a review...so I am.
OMG!!!. Ok well I used to go to Ava's a few years ago to get my brazilian waxing done by Sharon and she was wonderful....welI I went back there to have my wax done and she was no longer there!! The lady took my into the room and she covered me in wax and the wax burned me so bad....then she could not get the wax off. My skin turned purple instantly!! I will never go back again. I had to go home and bruise myself even more trying to get the wax off.
To Ava's Spa.
I am so impressed with Ava's Spa. I have been going there for several years now. ALWAYS, I am welcomed with smiles and warm hello's. I heard Ava on the phone the other day with someone. I could feel her warmth and sincerity coming through with every word she spoke. She knows her customers and shows special interest in you when you come in.
Ave is definitely a go getter. She shows such great amounts of energy.
Not only is she a super business woman, but you feel you have a friend that has your best interest at heart.
Thank you Ava and associates. Amy White
Terrible! Horrible! Beware!!.
If it was possible to rate with negative stars.... I would!
This place is horrifically bad!! I went in to get a bikini wax and the technician burned me! After two days, I was still really red and the skin was broken out and very painful. When I called the salon to complain, they asked me to come in so they could take a look and see if there was anything they could do to help. The owner told me I was overreacting and that I would heal after a few more days. She said that getting burnt while waxing is completely normal and happens all the time. I'm sorry but it most certainly does NOT! She was completely unapologetic and offered me no help for my very burnt and tender skin... she even tried to blame it on me saying that my skin must just be overly sensitive. I have never had this issue before, but even if I had that is certainly NO WAY to treat a customer. I will never ever go back here and I highly encourage others to avoid it as well. Go anywhere but here... this place is TERRIBLE.
Mixed Emotions!!!. I went to Ava's with a group of friends. I ordered the 65 minutes basic massage with chicken salad lunch. When I first walked in it looked more like a store then a spa. Originially I called and said I was running a couple minutes late for my appointment due to road construction on the highway, when I called Ava herself picked up the phone and she was very rude and sounded mad that I was going to be late. When I got to the Spa/Store I was told to fill out an information card. When I came into the Spa/Salon I wasnt greeted, I did not know where to go or sit there are a total of 3 desks in the main area, with people walking back and fourth but no one to greet you. After waiting to be greeted, Ava's manager took me to a little table area with a gate arround it and gave me a skimpy chicken salad in a styrofoam box with a bottled water......this is not the extrodinary chicken salad that was described on the website, this salad was terribly small. After eating I went back to my massage which was an amazing experience, even though it was done by a student that was doing his externship at Ava's it was still a great experience....and no there was no happy ending!! the massage room was dirty and old looking, it looked like the candles where from the dollar tree, the candles were alll melted and old, the cd player kept skipping so I asked the therapist to turn it off. Overall, I wouldnt come back because Ava is rude and a micromanager but the staff was great and profesional!!
I cannot BELIEVE this place is in business!! STAY FAR FAR AWAY!!!!
I decided to surprise my husband for V-Day and schedule a couples message. I called and spoke with Ava who was a bit short with me at the time but I figured it was busy. She told me she needed my credit card number to "hold" the time slot, which made sense to me- I gave it to her.
After getting off the phone with her I called my mom to tell her how excited I was. She told me that my husband had already scheduled the same thing and how it's "supposed to be a surprise". I called Avas' back and told the receptionist what had happened and that I would like to cancel my appointment (only about 15 minutes had passed since I scheduled). She said Ava was busy and would call me back within 30 minutes. She never called me back Thursday, so again, I called first thing Friday morning. Ava picked up the phone and told me she was "very busy booking appointments" I explained the situation. She was SO RUDE! She told me to call my husband and have him cancel his appointment, I told her no, please let me cancel this appointment. She told me she does not cancel appointments and that "next time I should plan better".
Words cannot express how angry I am about this. She ended up charging my card $180 for a service that was never provided. I am disputing this charge now with the bank and hope to have it resolved. I'm pretty sure that the only good reviews on here are written by Ava herself- I wish I would have seen the reviews and taken the time to read them before even calling this hellhole.
I can take comfort in the fact that I entertain a lot of clients and was looking for a nice place to take them for a special day- hahahha- won't be here!!!! STAY FAR FAR AWAY!!!!!!
