The Scene – The Tuckahoe Plantation west of Richmond in Goochland County was the boyhood home of Thomas Jefferson. Constructed around 1712, this national historic monument will give you personal insight into the life of a man who preferred to be remembered for writing the Declaration of Independence and starting the University of Virginia than for his term as the third President of the United States.
