Hidden Treasure. I had never been to Hondo's, and was taken there by a good friend of mine, who mentioned more than once that he was a V.I.P. Guest there. Everything about the place impressed me. from the excellent service, to the mouthwatering food. I never had to ask for anything, and my descisions were made easy by the server's suggestions. needless to say, i will not be going anywhere else for a steak again. Hondo's has become my steak spot. and though i dont care for seafood, the only thing left on my friends plate (who ordered the fresh fish of the day) was a speck of asparagus " for color" as he put it. If youre looking for a hidden treasure of a restaurant in richmond, dont waste your time, just go straight to hondo's.

Brunch was Superb. My girlfriends and I try to get together once a month at a nice restaurant, and we finally found it. We met at Hondos for Brunch this past Sunday and everything was excellent. The service was prompt, the atmosphere was inviting and the food was outstanding, I was skeptical because brunch buffets I have been to in the past have left me disappointed but not this one. All of the food was fresh and delicious. They had everything anyone could ever want for brunch. The chocolate fondue fountain was my personal favorite. After dozens of different restaurants and disappointing experiences we all agreed that we finally found the perfect restaurant and can't wait to return.

Best Steak in Richmond, Excellent Service. I am a National Account Executive and travel extensively. I am required to take clients to dinner frequently. I am always looking for great atmosphere but need great food with a vast wine selection. I feel Hondo's exceeds all of my requirements.

I was very impressed with all aspects of my dining experience. Even though fairly busy, I was greeted immediately with a smiling Hostess and escorted to our table. The waitress introduced herself and immediately put us at ease. Her knowledge of different wines did not go unnoticed by my clients.

The steaks came out cooked to perfection. The trout looked delicious and all agreed their dinner was great.

All in all it was a great dinner from start to finish.

I will definately be back anytime I need to impress.

Brunch was only ok, at best... Not worth $20..... Went for brunch. We were promptly seated and then... NOTHING! No waiter, no water, no service at all for at least 10 minutes. Totally forgotten, and they weren't even busy.

The brunch was very limited, and served at lukewarm temperatures. Seafood Neuburg, while a bit tasty, contained no seafood. Biscuits were cold, as was the gravy and all the rest. At more than $20 per person after tax, it is definitely NOT worth it. Will not be returning anytime soon.

Are they digging through Golden Corral rejects to find chefs?. Pretty good with steaks, but I can stay at home and grill a nice steak and not be out 50 bucks. This restaurant seems to cycle through chefs faster than a kid on a bike, and the quality has seemed to steadily go down as the years go by. Each new chef has seemed to care less and less about first quality, and now even presentation falls by the wayside. Definitely avoid the buffets and brunches. The food is no better than breakfast at any diner, it's just been thrown into silver chafin dishes and the customer charged three times the price. A restaurant to go to purely for atmosphere. If you're actually looking for good food, go elsewhere.

Expensive but Good Food. This place was better when it was out in Manakin Sabot but it is still quite good. However, it seems to be more of an out of town salesman's business dinner than a hometown favorite. The food, service and ambience are all good - just not anything spectacular. For some reason, West End restaurants seemed to all be staffed by high school kids who are just not very good. For $150, you can have a great dinner for two. Good steaks and seafood.

A STEAK TO REMEMBER!. Had the best steak ever. I ordered the filet and it was served perfectly, flavorful and simply wonderful. The waiter suggested a great wine, too. Loved it...will be back!
