Yum. While this restaurant is not cheap, it's worth the price to have a unique experience once in a while. They have a three course meal option, but personally, I prefer to just do cheese and then skip right to dessert. You will be a little stinky when you leave, as the food smells tend to get into your clothes and hair, but overall, a great option for a nice leisurely meal.

Pricey!. I've been to this Melting Pot location three times. We were living in Orlando for a while and had several visits to two different locations (including the flagship location which I believe is now closed). All the visits were based on requests by our kids for some special occasion. All locations were consistent in food quality and service.

For the price we paid I would expected the food to taste much better than it did. The salad was good and the cheese fondue appetizer was delicious. The entrees were mediocre at best. This chain is a great place to impress someone on a date or take a young teen for a special occasion like birthday or graduation as it's a unique experience.

Service: At first I thought the lack of attention was because the servers wanted the customer to have a leisurely enjoyable dinner without feeling rushed. BUT I would have expected at the least to not have to constantly look for someone to bring us drink refills.

I have to rate 3 stars as the restaurant, in my opinion, is only OK.

It's hip to dip at this cozy fondue-lover's paradise.. In Short
Booths equipped with tabletop fondue pots are clustered together inside the intimate dining room. Start with a cheese fondue, including an assortment of breads, veggies and fruits for dipping. Entrees include lobster, center-cut filet, fish, chicken and vegetarian selections served with a variety of dipping sauces. For dessert, try the flaming turtle, a mix of chocolate and caramel flambéed tableside, served with nut-covered marshmallows, fresh fruit, pound cake, brownies and cheesecake.

Great Service. I went for the first time with a group at work. we had a great time. Our service was wonderful and the food was amazing. Although this restruant for me is for special occassions only due to pricing. I definietly cant wait to go back. i really am surprised ot hear how poorly a family with children was treated there. You should have heard our group have fun. we know we were a bit loud with our laughing and having fun but no one complained. I always recommend to wait a day and put your thoughts in writing to management. maybe they would would have like to have the family back for another chance,

Romantic setting. Good wine list. Inept service. We have been to MeltingPot restaurants in cities other than Richmond and they have been fine. The one in Richmond suffered from what seemed to be high staff turnover and poor training. The food is good, and the wine list superb, though there is no one there when we visited who seemed to know anything about the wines on the list. Service was slow, and staff only wanted to help "their tables". We had to wait a long time between courses which was unusual because the cooking is done at the table. The average age of the staff ("manager" included) seemed to be about 23. We expected much more given the price point.

Not a Family Restaurant. This was not our first visit . Our previous visits were delightful - HOWEVER!!! We took our daughter for her 14th Birthday and thought it would be a great experience for her. The $14.95 balloon and picture frame was to be at our table for her - per our reservation. However - nothing was there. We have four girls between the ages of 9 and 14. They are all very well behaved. In fact, we frequent Copper Grill and Morton's with them in tow - and have never had anything but compliments on their behavior. We were seated in a small room with another family (their children were younger than ours) - at first we thought this was great. We could barely hear our conversation above theirs. However, the manager informed my husband we were being disruptive to their table. We finished the rest of our meal in silence. My husband spoke to the manager (after I took the girls to the car) and he replied this was not a family environment restaurant, it was for romance! However - I will say our server was very good and she treated us well.

Nice place to bring family for special occasions ---meats, seafood, cook yourself.... Nice atmosphere---good food, and great fun with familes cooking together in the pots...You will enjoy this restaurant...Be prepared to pay a good price for your food...If you are looking for something less expensive---go for drinks and appetizers...You'll enjoy that also... Great for anniversaries---birthdays...special occasions..

Truely unique dining experience. I took my wife there for her B'day and it was a night to rememmber. I had requested a table off the main traffic aisle and we were delighted with the last boothe in a quite corner. The four course dinner was the best. Plenty of food, fine flavors and very attentive service combined for a memorable experience. Be prepared to drop some bucks but it is well worth it.

Perfect First Date or Wine Lover. Try this uniquely themed restaurant. See what your first date is made of!

Classy, romantic, good place to cozy up for intimate conversation. We had the swiss cheese fondue, followed by the Land and Sea cooked in the Mojo broth. All was very tasty. I'd offer a better selection of veggies to dip in the cheese, though. Dessert was over the top. We had the Flaming Turtles (caramel and chocolate with pecan) Fondue.

Comes with a yummy selection of prime fruit and cake. Our waitress wasn't the most attentive, in comparison with other waitstaff we witnessed.
