Excellent. We've been very impressed with Barksdale Theatre. Each season is diverse. Each show is very professionally produced. There is the occasionally play that isn't up my alley, but the other 4 shows of the season more than make up for it. It's about an 80 minute drive for my wife an I, but I haven't found another theatre in Virginia that beats it yet.

Highly recommended. Spending an evening at Barksdale Theatre is one of my absolute favorite weekend activities. My family has been subscribing for about 7 years, and there has not yet been a show that I haven't enjoyed. Each season presents a variety of shows, ranging from a great American musical to a thought-provoking drama to a splashy hhit fresh from Broadway. I always love going to New York and seeing what Broadway has to offer, but it's nice to know that when the money doesn't allow it, I can almost always have just as wonderful an experience right here in Richmond.

I highly recommend Barksdale Theatre to anyone with any kind of interest in the performing arts!

Best Professional Theatre In Richmond!. The variety of shows put on which means there is something for everyone to see and enjoy! The intimate theatre setting is perfect to get lost into the story and characters.

Richmond's oldest and most unique professional theater offers a mix of shows on the cutting edge.. Centerpiece
This year-round arena stage theater moved from Hanover Tavern to Willow Lawn Mall in 1996, capitalizing on the central location and making it possible for almost any theater-lover to make the drive. The 214-seat theater produces six shows a year.

Don't Miss
World premiere of the "Misfits", a behind-the-scenes look at the movie, showing January 12-February 3. "Carousel" will be the Christmas show, November 10-December 30.

Time Investment
Plays are one-and-a-half to two hours and musicals run two-and-a-half to three hours.

Reason to Go
These shows push the envelope; they're not run-of-the-mill and might offer one of the most diverse production schedules in the city.
