My Grandmother.... ...loves Sal Federicos, which should tell you something. It's solid fare, leaning toward seafood and Italian dishes, and won't disappoint by being too much of something (too spicy, expensive, pretentious, &c).

The type of place that those Italian chain restaurants want to be.. The Scene
Sal Federico's embodies the spirit of the big Italian meal and the family atmosphere in which it should be enjoyed. For years, it's been a place to meet and greet neighbors for those who live around the Staples Mill and Broad Street areas. The traditional Italian favorites and folksy atmosphere have been a large part of the staying power of this little ristorante. With prices ranging from $3 to $20 for most items, it's easy to see how Sal's has become so popular.

The Food
Healthy portions are in the true Italian tradition, and the service is equally as gracious. You'll find items on the menu that aren't your typical fare at mid-priced Italian restaurants. If a good portion of escargot is what you're after, Sal's will deliver. For the rest of us, the fresh pastas and salads will suffice.
