The Scene – Tucked away from the bustle of downtown, this little gem has become a Richmond tradition. Emerald green walls, textured wallpapers, mirrors and ornate wall sconces all evoke a fine Parisian dining experience. The space is smartly divided so that every table becomes a romantic destination. The waitstaff provides excellent service and diners are made to feel like an old friend of chef/owner Paul Ebling. – – The Food – The traditional French cuisine is highly refined and includes such standbys as unctuous lobster bisque, a rack of lamb with veal…

Under new management, the menu has both traditional and fresh, new options with seasonal changes. All of the soups are home made and have wonderful flavor. Be adventurous - try them - you'll like them. Salads are always crisp and fresh with freshly blended dressing.
The Dover Sole was wonderfully prepared, and served tableside. My husband and I have tried the Fallow(sp?) Deer, Filet Mignon, Lamb, quail, and duck prepared a couple of ways and loved it all. Side veggies are always fresh, beautifully presented and an excellent complement to the main entree.
The chef is gifted with preparing his sauces, providing that authentic French flavor. You won't want to leave a drop behind. (The white bread is fresh and hot and no overwhelming flavor.)
For us, it was just the right amount of food - it's nice to be able to try all of the courses. The creme brulee and chocolate souffle are my favorite desserts.
Service is friendly and attentive. They do not rush you at all. My husband told the maitre d' we were celebrating my birthday and the table was prepared in advance with red rose petals. Very nice touch.
- Pros: Beautifully decorated, good parking, Excellent food
- Cons: A little hard to find. Get directions before you go.
