still better than rest. I still see this as the best place to get unpretentious quality steaks and food. No need to drive to mall areas and pay twice as much for poor food. I still find it constantly good and comfortable.

TOPEKAS FIRST TAKE :-). I did not visit the Topekas in Richmond however I did recently visit the newly opened resurant in Charlottesville. Though the visit was pleasant I did find that loop of charlie chaplin a waste. The waitress was friedly and courteous as was the greeter at the door. My wife and son's orders were good and prepared to their satisfaction. I personally ordered a steak which was probably my fisrt mistake. I ordered it medium -well however what I recieved was a medium-rare steak (Prime Rib) The waitress did offer to take it back and get it corrected, however I make it a point not to send food back to a kitchen in light of other bad experiences with tempermental cooks. I will more than likely give them another shot but I will not order another steak. I wish I had a number to call!!!!!!!!!

Overpriced and Not Enough for the Money. I use to eat at Topeka's all the time, but I refuse to visit now. I really loved their food. The prices are very expensive now and you do not get the food for your money. For example, I ordered the Hawaiian chicken every time I visited. The Hawaiian chicken is only 1/2 of the breast now and very small. The salads are not included in the entrees and I had to ask for more salad. You can go to Outback and Olive Garden for a little less and get two pieces of chicken breast and more food. They have gone up on the prices, but you get so little food. I am just so disappointed. My relatives and friends have also stop going.

Editorial Review by Christy Buena. Locals flock for aged steaks, fresh lobster, sandwiches and burgers in a kid-friendly environment.

Avoid this place like the plague. The best advice I can give is to not go at all. The service is slow and the staff young and unattenitive. I went with my wife and two children. We both got their best filet, which I swear was sirloin. I know what a good filet is, so anyone that tells you this place has a good one will probably also tell you to try Golden Coral. Very expensive. We spent over $80 and left very dissapointed. There is nothing worse then spending that much on a meal and being dissapointed. We emailed the company about the service and bad food, and nothing was ever done.

Stick with Outback or Carrabbas for your filet and you can't go wrong.

Best Filet at the Best Price Anywhere. Topeka's has the best filet at the best price anywhere. It comes so well trimmed that all of the meat can be eaten - a rarity in this town. The honey-lime salmon, and custom burgers are also great. Rolls, baked potatoes, and salads, are just the way we like them. Overall, our favorite place to have dinner in the Richmond area.

THE RIBS ARE TO DIE FOR.!!!!. Well I've been coming to Topekas since it opened, And always had the Porter house. Med rare (come on like there is any other way) It has to be the top steak house for Me. Though last 2 years coming to Topekas I've ordered the ribs (baby back) They just simply melt in Your mouth along with the fresh bread. ...EXcellent choice in My book to go for eats..both ribs and porter house steaks....So I HIghly Recommend the Ribs...For Larger apetites, The Porter House.

Best steakhouse in Richmond for the money. In my judgment the Topeka's Steakhouse & Saloon clearly is the best steakhouse in the Richmond area for the value, the high quality of the food and the excellent service. I especially love their steaks, sweet potatoes and salads. The on-site freshly baked hot yeast rolls are simply out of this world.

Don't Go If You Have Special Needs!. I had major surgery a month earlier and needed to be seated in non-smoking (because of asthma troubles) at a table where I could sit in a chair...not a both. We were told it would be a 20 minute wait...maybe 30. We left at 55 mintues. They kept offering to let us sit in smoking....completely ignoring health concerns. In 55 mintues they couldn't find a chair...so we drove through a burger place. It was my birthday. They were the most unconcerned staff I have ever seen. I will never go back.

Food Quality. The food quality and service were fantastic and the price was reasonable. I had an excellent experience. Love the buffalo shrimp appetizer.
