Editorial Review for The Tavern – by Patrick Rooney
The Scene
When you sit down the kids first notice the drawing mats and crayons. That's normal, but what isn't normal is how the cafe posts the art on the wall. That makes the kids feel great and want to return. Waitresses that patiently walk around packs of scurrying youngsters make the atmosphere seem truly homey. Huge booths big enough for baby seats and diners will make the evening less hectic.
The Food
Served quickly and with a smile, the Tavern boasts some fancy recipes for a kid-pleaser. Montreal Free Range Chicken over basmati rice was a treat. The cranberry sauce added the right kick to the garlic. Strangely, they also have one of the best hummus dishes in the city. Skip the fajitas, which are essentially a burrito.

Good food, great service. Not fancy, but worth going to. Very quick and efficient. Outstanding crab cake, despite the high price tag. Outstanding burgers and sandwiches, as well as entrees. Good for lunch, dinner, anytime.
Pros: Food, service, friendliness
Cons: parking during lunch, not enough tables for peak times

The food is average, but the staff is amazing. They are friendly and efficient, and if I can say it here, they have the best looking waitresses in town. Forget Hooters!
Pros: Staff, Food
Cons: Lunch Rush
