My experience with Uncle Bob's was amazing. I called their Customer center firstly and was given a choice of locations. A space was reserved for me and I got their truck for free use, too! All I had to do was put up $100.00 deposit (which was cheaper than Budget or U-haul) and I got it all back when I turned in the truck!!! But I get ahead of myself. As for the storage place itself, I expected some old guy behind a grungy desk in a smoke filled office... with a few boxes and dollies laying about. Boy, was I wrong. It was clean, neat and professional... like they took their business serious. The guy was on the older side, yes, but not only was he dressed in a uniform of sorts, he was polite and accomodating. He took me up on the lot in a golf cart and suggested ways to better utilize my space and protect my valuables. I was shown a variety of sizes so that I could pick what would best suit my needs. I was then given 1/2 month free! That amount came to almost a $40.00 savings! They pro-rated me and I even wound up with money on my account that carried over to the next month as credit because of the free stuff they gave me. Out of pocket, including gas for the truck, I spent a total of around $50 and I got a huge storage space!!! A lot bigger than I could have gotten at the other places I looked at. There are late fees if you don't pay on time. What else is new? I will just pay on time and have no problems. It is the most organized, clean, and PROFESSIONAL storage place I have ever used, and I've moved around a lot so this is one thing I know something about. Sounds like the negative reviews was from someone who wanted something for nothing and found out the hard way that life, including storage space places, don't work that way.
Pros: professional, great deals, clean, FREE MOVING TRUCK, lots of choices

The absolute worst storage place I have every rented. I rented in January around 3pm in the afternoon. Once completed, I went to the lot and found that the lock was still on my newly rented space. Upon my return to the office, which closed at 6pm, the manager left around 5pm. I was stuck with the U-Haul truck until they returned the next day. Which cost me more money. If you are 30 days late, you will received charges that equal more than your monthly rental. After the 5th of the month, a $15 fee is added, after the 12th -15th, your fee will be an additional $25 fee. So for the entire month, if you were 30 days late, you would owe your monthly rate plus late fees of $15 and $25 and a lien fee of $115. The fee's would total more than my rental fee.
