Nestled into an old house, Book People is easily missed. Once you do find it, you'll gape at the selection of new and used books--it's massive, engrossing and entirely fascinating. Just keep in mind that this is a place for hunters and gatherers: With books stacked on shelves and piled on the floor, you might have to browse a bit.


What to Look For
While Book People stocks most bestsellers, its strength lies more in its unusual or hard-to-find books. Look for philosophy, religion and children's books here, too.
