Tips for Full Kee Chinese Restaurant

Great, Authentic Chinese, with one rude waiter. I was at Full Kee the other day, and had the best orange chicken ever. It truly was the best I had ever eaten, with a rich flavorful sauce, and crispy, fresh tender chicken. The menu is authentic, with such a wide variety of options. We tried the dumplings first, and they made all other dumplings taste bland. Seriously, the food at this place is fantastic. They also carry a range of specials, such as "whole fish" or even "jelly fish." Maybe one of these days I will be brave enough.

However, the waiter we had was shockingly rude. He offered no suggestions, appeared annoyed when we would ask for anything, and would practically slam the glass down when i asked for a water refill. I noticed that, with other customers, the host would have to come over and tell them the specials because the waiter just didnt care to be bothered.

They really need to get rid of this guy (white or latino i think, pretty feminine, shaved head) because everyone else there was nice, and he really brought down the whole experience. When I go back I will specifically ask for another waiter because the food is not cheap, and I dont want to be treated rudely.

Go here in the morning for Dim Sum only. Best Dim Sum in town. Make sure you get their at exactly 11am so you get a good table and get the cart first. Lunch and dinner is just typical Chinese Food. Nothing special. Go here for Dim Sum.

Most authentic chinese in Richmond. Full Kee is without a doubt the most and only authentic Chinese restaurant in Richmond. Sundays are the best as dim sum is served. The atmosphere is lacking but the food is well-worth it. Richmond is lucky to have Full Kee.

Good Food But Not Pretty..... I really appreciated the authenticity of the menu selections. I realized the place was the real deal when I saw the odd dishes and the number of Chinese people there. I thought it was clean but the decor left a lot to be desired. The wait staff was not as friendly as it should be and the prices were a bit higher but the food was superior and the ingredients were top notch. A definitely recommend the Peking Jumbo Shrimp.

I won't be back!. After seeing the rating and reviews of this restaurant on this site, I thought Id give it a try.

Today I ordered two dishes to go: Deep Fried Spicy Squid (which was decent) and Beef with Broccoli. After I got home, I was dismayed when I saw what the Beef with Broccoli looked like -- a bunch of dull leftovers mixed together. It consisted of stale canned mushroom and bamboo slices, with yellowish broccoli and beef (I was expecting green broccoli with beef only). I was even more dismayed when I tasted it -- it was sour!!

For the restaurants sake, I then called the owner to let her know there were problems with the dish. I would have been satisfied with a simple Thanks for letting us know, but instead I was accused of making false claims and insulting their cooking!

My favorite rainy day place. I love to come here on a rainy day, especially for the free hot tea to go along with some General Tso's chicken. It's dank atmosphere just adds to a dark rainy day, if you like that sort of thing. My one complaint is that they don't take debit/credit cards for amounts under $10, so if I don't have cash on hand I end up getting something else to go over the limit.

Walk on the wild side at uber-chef Jimmy Sneed's favorite restaurant in town.. The Scene
Ignore the decor. The freshest ingredients and the large Oriental population filling most of the family-style tables should give you a clue as to what's really important here. Anything but authentic wouldn't last long in a neighborhood surrounded by Chinese shops and markets. Don't hesitate to ask the servers for suggestions or translations--they truly want to make your day.

The Food
Hard-to-find dishes and incredibly fresh ingredients make Full Kee one of the best Chinese restaurants in town. Their version of beef chow foon (stir-fried tender strips of beef, bean sprouts, spring onions and those slippery broad noodles in a rich sauce) rivals the most authentic New York City Chinatown shop. For a walk on the wilder side, try beef tripe, pig's knuckle, cold shredded jellyfish, or congee with duck blood. Mango pudding makes a refreshing finale.

Good dim sum. Since this is the only dim sum in Richmond, I'm glad it's good. However, this does not come cheap. These bite sized appetizers shouldnt cost this much and doesnt everywhere else but Full Kee has found a way to hike up the price since they are the only restaurant like this in town. Sad for Richmonders to expericence such price gouging. The service is varied.

attitude re-haul. The food is pretty good but, the floor management is very unfriendly. The prices are steep and not as reasonable as chinese restaurants in D.C. The take out and ingredients has been on the skimpy side since they first opened. Could use an over haul in portions and attitude. Some wait staff also stuffy too.
