Cheap looking for a Wedding. I attended a wedding here and i could not believe how cheaply done it was. the 'enchanted garden' was poorly created for such a creative writer. do not have your wedding here. enjoy the $5 tour and be done.
The writer's literary life shines at this museum..
What to Expect
The Old Stone House, Richmond's oldest residence built in 1737, now hosts the Poe Museum. Edgar Allan Poe never actually lived here, but he worked in the area and almost certainly passed it every day. Besides, the shabby, haunted look of the place makes it a perfect setting for remembering the author of "The Fall of the House of Usher" and "The Raven."
The Grounds
The complex consists of the Old Stone House, the Memorial Building, a converted carriage house and the Enchanted Garden. The carriage house contains a gallery with illustrations inspired by Poe's work. The Memorial building contains Poe's personal memorabilia and a large-scale model of Richmond in his day.
Don't Miss
Make sure you see the bust, which mysteriously disappears every Halloween.
