The Scene – This is the closest Richmond will come to an authentic New York Italian deli. The smell of garlic hangs in the air. A dozen tables inside and a half dozen on the sidewalk make this a stylish place (next to historic Byrd Theatre) to pick up or eat in. Many customers routinely drop by for a wedge of parmigiano-reggiano for that night's pasta. – – The Food – Most deli sandwiches include gourmet meat (Thumann's brand), cheese and fresh-made baguettes. What can I say? I've been going here for ages. ever since I was a kid. It used to be too much for me. Now I find that it is one of my favorite restraunts and one I will always have a craving to go to. The food is amazing, fresh whether it's cold or hot, there is great service and a friendly atmosphere. In my opinion the Industrial sandwich is the best. I would recomend this deli to anyone I ever meet, and to not go there after hearing about it would be an insult to the place as well as to me. I strongly suggest that anyone who hasn't been there must go.
- Pros: the food, people, atmosphere, etc.
- Cons: it can be slightly cramped on a cold afternoon with everyone inside there.
