a great burger "joint". I've never had any bad experiences at Carytown Burger and Fries. Folks have always been nice and helpful.

The place is a "joint" so don't expect white linen.

That said, it's the best burger joint in the area. The burgers are great. I think they're much better than 5 Guys and I think they're a little less expensive (not to mention local, not a national chain).

The onion rings are excellent, but the fries can be a little soggy. My favorite Richmond burger joint. Recommended!

Great Burgers. This is my favorite place to get a burger in Richmond. Yes a bunch of hipsters work there but I have always found them friendly and never had a problem. The blue cheese burger and the patty melt are both delicious and not too expensive. I highly recommend.

the reviews a couple of years old were true then.... ... but this is now. i returned to CBF recently after not having been in almost two years. wow- has this place changed, and not for the better. it is dirty as other reviewers have said, but the service/ employees are the absolute worst part. these guys act like they work at Studio 54 or something, rather than at a local burger joint in the Ukrop's parking lot. everyone was so irritated with the fact i came in, i had to check and make sure that i hadn't accidentally come in right before closing. nope. it was 6:30. get a clue, employees and management of CBT- stop acting like rude, hipster jerks especially when the public has their choice of any one of a dozen Red Robins or Five Guys in town. if CBT goes out of business and you're all unemployed, you have yourselves to blame.

The employees are crap.. I gave these people two chances. The first time I called for a pickup order the dude who answered was stoned. He told me so, and that he sucked at his job. Whatever. Then he giggled at everything I said. The next time I called it took an hour and a half for them to deliver the wrong thing, cold. The bun was also moldy. I will never eat there again. That place is a dirty hole and should be condemned.

If CB&F were a toilet it would need to be flushed. I have been there numerous times & over the the years the place has gotten just plain nasty. My last visit will definitely be my LAST visit. After we odered our food we walked up up the filthy stairs to the even more disgusting "cozy & bright(according to website)" dining room. Old food bits & dead flies on the window sill that looked weeks old(actually old food bits everywhere ), dried ketchup on the overflowing trash bin & walls. The salt & pepper shakers were so greasy you could hardly hold on to them. I was so disgusted that when we got home I found their web site & wrote of our experience. The website at the time said all comments or concerns would be answered. Ours never was. Their new site has no contact info to email concerns.

Great Sandwiches, Slightly Rude Staff. Okay, I will admit the hamburgers and the sandwiches are pretty stellar here. They are hearty and juicy fare without being too greasy. The staff however, is another matter. My guess is they are either disenchanted hipsters, or yankee transplants, or both. They act like its a chore to wait on you. They don't even smile. You feel ashamed for even asking them for a coke. However, you will get very satisfying food here.

good burgers, just dont expect anything else. I went there with a friend over the weekend, they weren't busy, we placed our order and the person behind the counter wrote it down. he was about 20, overweight, dark hair and glasses. he asked if we were eating outside, i said yes, and after he took the order he confirmed that we were sitting outside. he and the other workers walked by us multiple times serving food to everyone that came in after we did. by the time that we received our food almost everyone that came in after us not only had their food, but were finished eating! here is the worst part: they bring out our food in a to-go bag! i looked at the waitress shocked, i told her it wasn't a to go order. her response: 'well, all your food is in the bag.' and left. no apology, no 'can i get you some plates' nothing. i have never been treated that poorly at any restaurant, even if it is just a place that sells burgers. i urge everyone to not support a place that is so seemingly commited to poor customer service. please do not eat there, let it go out of business as an example to others that customer service is not something to be treated lightly.

Gross wet cold fries. I went there expecting good food because of all of the local reviews. It was way over priced, like $7-10 for a burger and fries. The fries were soggy and cold. The veggie burger obviously came right from the boca burger box. I could have made a better burger at home. I would never go back there.

cold soggy fries, and bland burgers. the title says it all. we went there expecting the best. then the price for a specialty burger and fries was around 10 dollars. you'd think for that price it would be heaven in your mouth, but we went through our very own personal hell. the fries were cold and soggy and had obviously been sitting there for hours. for that much money though i forced myself to eat it. the worst part was that i found a half bitten toothpick in my veggie buger.....delish. save your money and go to mcdonalds.

THE ABSOLUTE BEST. Don't miss this place...it's funky and a little hard to fing but FIND IT. Everything about it is great, especiial the incredible burgers (all kinds) and fries. They're fresh and a great deal. Outdoor tent/patio is the best. And they deliver. The owner, Mike, is a terrific host and cares about everyone.
