BUT it IS a bar on cary street so it is always busy, so i think thats expected. over all i do go there at least once a month, my fiance LOVEs the twin dogs, they're nathans, his favorite.
THE NY DELI NEEDS HELP. Well its a Sunday afternoon. The deli is busy all seats are full so my wife and i are offered the window seat by the bar. i love this seat great to people watch and have what used to be a great lunch. 1. dead and half dead flys on the table. 2. urinal is filled with dead flies.3. orderd a nine dollar sub with no slaw. came out with slaw after a forty five minute wait. i returned it and opened it again to inspect it, sanwich was beat to hell burnt pastrami mainly fat and a plate covered in grease from the burnt onion rings. i gave up returned it and chose not to try my look with this half ass kitchen again. i have been in this f n b business all my life and am usually the guy who just deals with an average meal but this was well below average. avoid this place
nice shows for free. Love the place for the fun crowds they get there, especially on the weekends and during their monthly shows. No cover! great happy hour prices, so if you are a student like me, you will def dig it!
Decent breakfast spot... The only reason I can give for going here is the fact that it's two blocks from my house. The food is average, nothing to write home about. The service is terrible. Good luck getting the staff to make eye contact with you. I've put in several drink orders only to be forgotten. I've on more than one occasion had to hunt my server down for the check. I can't even get angry anymore. It's so ridiculous it borders on humorous. I keep hoping they'll get it together someday, but I'm about to give up. The only positive I can really give is that they have a decent breakfast menu. Also the morning staff is more on top of things.
Terrible Every Time. I just keep getting dissapointed. My non -fan friends always want to try it out. I have started being the one to pick where we meet so I can have a chance at a good experience. The menu is good but it is never made right. I am a sit at the bar kinda guy and the night time barstaff is terrible. Bald guy....I do not want a stupid puzzle, stop talkin to your female staff and make me a drink....this time make it good PLEASE!
Very Disappointed. My trip to New York Deli was a huge letdown. I ordered a Reuben and it was not only the fattiest corned beef I've ever had, it was extremely tough and hard to chew. My friend ordered the Baked Chicken Breast which, for $14, was not worth the price. The 1/4 chicken was miniscule and the saffron sauce that came with it was used so sparingly, it was basically drizzled.
They skimped on my Reuben!. Last time I was there, I ordered the Reuben. What I got was a thin piece of corned beef, a pinch of sauerkraut, and a drizzle of 1000 Island. Quite possibly the thinnest reuben ever.
Can't Go Wrong. This place is tops in Richmond as far as the diner-esque places go. Waitstaff is very attentive, always on top of things. Top quality meats and ingredients in food. Can't beat the breakfast special. Always a VERY pleasant experience eating here. I love the place. Food always served hot, drinks never go empty, and dirty plates don't sit forever.
