The Scene – Don't expect to find a lot of frilly extras; Mary Angela's is not about presentation, its about getting a good slice of pizza with not too much cheese and not too much sauce. The wait for what you'd assume is a quick meal, however, can surprisingly drag on into double-digit minutes. – – The Food – The subs are worth the wait. Mary Angela's does an eggplant parmagiana sub like no one else. Great New York Style Food
by Commish at Citysearch
I drove all the way to Richmond, Va from New York to experience Mary Angela's Pizza. Actually I was there visiting my daughter and had to try this place. It was like walking into a restaurant in NYC and the food was great to boot. I know it can be a little close, but it was obviously a family run joint just by walking through the door. The pizza was great, service was helpful and honest and I can't wait to go back. It has always been tough to find a good pizza in the south, but this was great. I noticed some of the meals being served to some of the college students across the isle and it was no wonder they came here, good food, great quantity, good value. Looking forward to bringing the grand kids back.

Best NY style Italian pizza in Richmond. Very reasonably priced also. Routinely have pickup orders ready in 15 minutes even during very high volume times. Highly recommended.
Best pizza in town

I would recommend this place to anybody. You may have to wait a while during the peak times but, this place is well worth the wait. Nothing fancy, drinks come in plastic cups and and the menu is your very basic italian items, but the quality is amazing. For the price you just can't beat it!! so, next time your going to the byrd to catch a cheap movie stop by Mary Angela's you won't be dissapointed!
- Pros: good food, friendly staff
- Cons: small, crowded
