One of the city's best '50s sci-fi interiors comes with an out-of-this world martini..
The Scene
A space-theme and the fried pickle intersect at the Galaxy Diner. Silver and blue colors dominate the '50s sci-fi kitsch at this narrow bar with comfy sidebooths. The back room is more spacious and non-smoking, but the bar area seems more vibrant.
The Drink
Three parts gin, one part vermouth and an olive, served in a special glass. It doesn't sound so complicated, but with 15-20 types of martinis on the menu, it might be the most discussed drink in the bar. Try the cosmopolitan at least once. Featuring all top-shelf brands, it will get you where you want to go.
Cost
Burgers are $4.50 and most meals go for $4-$7. The martini runs you $6-$9 ($9 for the Cosmopolitan).
