The Scene
Known as the neighborhood garden center and located at the entrance to Carytown with easy access from the Downtown Expressway, it's hard to find such a wide selection of plants and garden supplies in such a small space. Eavesdropping on conversations about seed packets, soil content and sansevieria is almost as much fun as shopping.
The Goods
Family-owned for 15 years, 85% of the plants and herbs (60 varieties of herbs are available in springtime) are grown locally. Look for unusual annuals such as European and heirloom varieties. Topiaries created with selected ivy, rosemary, myrtle and lavender are also popular store items. Cachepots, writing paper, vases, prints, jewelry, books and birdfeeders make perfect year round gifts.
