Richmond >Beauty > Nesbit The Complete Body Salon
Way OVERPRICED for what you recieve. When you charge $60 for a pedicure I expect the pedicure to be fantastic and the spa and experience itself to be very very nice. Nesbit is not a very very nice spa. Whenever I call I am put on and off hold for 5 minutes. I've lived in Richmond area for a long time and Nesbit has gotten progressively worse and more expensive. I need to let my family know not to buy me gift certificates here anymore but its a name that is stuck in their heads for bday Christmas gift. Love the gift NOT the spa. There are a few in Carytown that are superior and not so OVERPRICED. Must say one thing positive- the spa seems to be clean which is always a plus.
Best Salon in the RIC!. I just moved back to Richmond and had a horrible expereince at another salon (Scissors). Therefore, I was a little nervous about trying Nesbit. To my delight, I got an appointment the same day. I waited about 10 minutes, but was offered a beverage and reading material. It was actually nice to relax. My stylist, Kaitlyn (spelling?), asked several questions to make sure she knew exactly what I wanted. I enjoyed my conversation and was thrilled with my hair. I did not feel pressured to buy a lot of products. I am ecstatic to have found a salon I love and stylist I trust in Richmond.
Great haircut. If you get on their email list, grab one of their specials. I got on from an apprentice, Meleah, and she was wonderful. It was a great haircut, she took her time, and concentrated completely on her task and not background chatter.
Best Facial/ Peel Services. Blair Harris at Nesbit Salon is my aesthetician and she is phenomenal. She worked with me to determine the best course of action for my skin problems and I now have the best skin of my life. People comment on how great my skin looks and most are surprised when I tell them my true age! Also, the Dermalogica products that Blair recommended to me continue the progress in between visits. Thank you Blair!!
Great Salon!!. I don't know why this salon has gotten so many negative reviews! I went to Nesbit for the first time today and had a great experience. Shanti, who cut my hair, was very kind and understood my requests. She was patient even though she just dealt with a client from hell!! The student discount is awesome and I can't wait to go back. OH! and I love the cut!
great spa services. I was surprised to see the negative reviews here. I've been going to Nesbit for waxing, manicure, pedicure, and facials for some time. Beth, Jennifer, Blair, and Sam have always done an excellent job, and the reception at both desks and by phone is very welcoming. I know there has been a change in ownership but did not detect any change in quality of service. I would go here for hair, too, but am happy with the woman who has been doing my hair at Del Sol , so don't want to switch. I love the decor of the Nesbit hair salon! Very soothing.
Terrible. I have been going to Nesbit Salon for 6 years and all of a sudden this place has gone down hill. They have let go all of their great hair sylists and there has been so many changes for the bad. I heard that there were new owners and new management and this has to be the reason why this place is a terrible place to go. When you walk into Nesbit it seems so cold now, no one is friendly and they all seem to think that they are better than you. I went to get my hair cut by a senior stylist and she seemed like she had no idea what she was doing, the cut was terrible. So, I went back to get it re-done and they still couldn't get it right. The manager, Melissa, was very rude to me when I talked to her about my messed up hair and seemed not to care that I was so upset. All of my friends used to go to Nesbit as well and they all stopped going because they noticed all of the changes that the new owners have made. It took me forever to find my ususal stylist, but I finally found her and she told me that they fired her and all of the others. Nesbit doesn't know it yet, but they probably won't last much longer. I do not recommend any new clients go there, they are extremely over-priced and I know numerous people that have left there unsatisfied.
nesbit - the best for hair.
when i moved back to richmond in '02 --after living in atlanta for almost 6 yrs and loving my stylist at key lime pie --- i had a hard time finding a salon/stylist in town that could cut my hair right. i have wavy, textured, asian hair, and i wasn't completely satisfied with my cut until i went to eric michael at nesbit in 2003 or '04 (but who's counting). since then, he has provided EXCELLENT service and maintained consistency. i've recommended 4 other friends who have wavy/curly/textured hair to him. i've also been to the various esteticians, wax technicians and massage therapists. although some services were better than others in those areas, i definitely have my favorites and continue to be a customer.
5 stars for nesbit. and to one of the negative reviewers: NO, i don't work at nesbit.
Absolutely wonderful and great customer service.
I am from Bethesda, MD and planned my wedding in the city I grew up in Richmond, VA. I wanted to treat my bridesmaids, mom, aunts and cousins to a morning at the salon to have their hair and makeup done before the wedding. We booked the salon for 12 woman. All of us to arrive at 8:30 a.m. on the day of the wedding. We had to be out of there dressed by 12:30PM. The salon had a breakfast waiting for us with free Mamosas. They assigned a team of hair and makeup artists to work on us all. Both my mother and I had an opportunity to get our hair and makeup done a few weeks earlier to make sure we approved of the salon. They were wonderful and did a terrific job. The facility was very clean, really funky, large and they were so efficient and helpful. We had so much fun. Not only did they do everything that we asked for but they supplied a lovely area in their spa for us to get dressed. They accommodated our photograher and videographer. We would strongly recommend this place for anyone that is interested in being treated well.
Thanks you so very much Nesbit for making our wedding day so nice.
Megan and Alberta Rains.
The WORST experience I have ever had at a salon..
Probably the worst experience I've ever had at a salon. I told the stylist I just needed a trim of an inch to an inch and a half because I'm trying to grow out my hair, and she refused to cut it unless I would allow her to cut 4 inches. Then the stylist next to her told me I should go home and "think about it" and come back when I'm "ready" to have a real cut. Then my stylist tried to lecture me about hair care and that I should never highlight my hair ever again because it was damaged. First of all, when do highlights or chemicals not at least partially damage your hair, and second of all, my hair is very soft and healthy and does not appear damaged at all. She then attempted to talk me into scheduling weekly conditioning treatments. Finally she and the other stylist suggested I go home and print pictures from the internet about haircuts I wanted, even though I already told them exactly what I wanted and they just refused to do it for me.
The receptionist staff was very nice, but the stylists were pretentious, rude and overall just unpleasant.
