Tips for Metro Grill

Amazing. Without hesitation I would recommend this resturaunt to anyone that enjoys amazing cuisine in a quaint atmosphere. I was shocked to read a negative review of Metro on this site. The quality of the food served at Metro is well worth the reasonable wait. Personally, I would rather know that my meal was prepared with quality than thrown together in half the time. VERY IMPRESSED!

Slow slow slow!. We stopped by the Metro Grill to have a nice dinner before heading to a show at the Coliseum, and since our show didn't start until 7:30 and we arrived around 5:40, we thought we'd have plenty of time for a nice meal. There were only 1 or 2 other booths occupied, and a few people at the bar. After nearly 45 minutes of waiting, we finally asked the waitress what was going on (she had obviously been avoiding our table) and she said she'd check on it. After walking past our table at least 3 times and about 15 minutes later, she finally stopped and said our food was coming, sorry about the delay. About 10 minutes later as we were planning our escape to the closest McDonald's, the food finally showed up. My steak was decent, but not the greatest I've had, and I had to wolf it down so fast, I couldn't have enjoyed it even if I wanted to! I could have even forgiven the ridiculously slow service if I had sensed at least SOME empathy on the part of the waitress, but as it was I can't imagine ever choosing to eat there again.

Amazing overall eating experience. This little hole in the fan adds value to the restaurant scene in many ways for the city of Richmond and more specifically the Fan district. There is a wide variety of menu choices to appease palates. I have been here many times and have never been disappointed. The restaurants casual elegance is the perfect spot for a date, to find a date or to have a dinner that will make you eager for your next visit!

Not Impressed. The title says it all. The food was quite bland (average pub food), the beer selection was limited, the service was bad (and thats being nice), and everything was over priced. On a good note, it is on the same block with about 4 other great resturants so you can walk to a better place.

See and be seen with Creole-inspired cuisine.. The Scene
In the Fan, there are many hip spots where the beautiful people go to see and be seen, but none that is quite as much fun as Metro Grill. The Creole-inspired cuisine is savory and the atmosphere is both elegant and fun.

The Food
Many of the dishes have a Latin feel; all have a spicy undercurrent that will delight those who crave a little pepper in their pasta. The woodsy, warm look of the bar complements the dispositions of the friendly waitstaff. Jazz music trickles in amid the chatter of those looking to meet and greet, setting a festive tone to the evening. Many of the patrons are in the category of post-college urban professionals who haven't found Mr. or Ms. Right quite yet, but are searching fearlessly. If you're looking for a place to be social and have a great meal, commute on over to the Metro Grill.
