Because of the many Confederate sites around Richmond, this little architectural gem from the early years of the American Republic does not always get the attention it richly deserves. Home of the third Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, and the first one to define the Court's role as well as lay down many of the Court's principles and procedures, this house retains not only the original woodwork and paneling, but more than 80 percent of its original furnishings.
