good food good service.
I love this place it is one of the most accomadating resteraunts in town...my favorite? the chicken soup..fantastic.
The duck very well prepared and tastefully decorated. the pad thai..excellent.
The outside dining is great on nice days and the service is prompt.
beautiful setting and decent food. I went to Thai Garden a few weeks ago and was satisfied. I had the shrimp pad thai and crispy rolls. I thought the sauce to the pad thai could have been better. I believe I had the traditional sauce (I try to go mild with Thai) and it had more of a tomato kind of base to it. It was not as good as another local Thai restaurant in the area and they were stingy with the shrimp. However, it is beautifully decorated, the patio area is lovely and they do have friendly service which is hard to find in Richmond.
Wonderful food, charming atmosphere, excellent service. My first visit to Beauregard's was woefully last week. Why woefully? Because I waited so long to try it. The Red Curry sauce was fantastic - the chicken was a bit dry but the dish was very, very good overall. The homemade ice cream is wonderful! Light and creamy, delectable flavors. I will be back often.
Very pretty outside garden. We've tried this restaurant twice now. The service is very attentive - no complaints. The outdoor garden is a delight, with gaslights setting a warm ambiance. The food, however, is very average. I ordered the Chicken Laab, which was served with no sauce, and was white chicken cooked dry. It had a spicy flavor, but no color. We were there with a group of 15, and of the dishes that were served, very few looked appetizing. The fried calamari as an appetizer was well done, but this really is not a classic Thai dish. Vegetables served in the dishes were minimal. Quite frankly there are better choices. Overall opinion - the group was underwhelmed. If you try this, stay away from chicken dishes - try seafood - some of the shrimp dishes looked ok.
Delicious Pad Thai and Wonderful Service. My fiance and I came to the Thai Room the evening of Halloween on a whim after Pizza Hut and the Quality Inn on Cary Street screwed us over. We were frustrated, grumpy, in a rush and hungry. When we walked in we were greeted very nicely and sat at the bar to place an order. While we waited the man working behind the bar was extremely nice and breath of fresh air after all the rudeness we had encountered before. The ladies were at the door were so sweet. One even offered me her outfit after I complimented her on how pretty it was! We got the spicy Pad Thai and it was SOOOOO good! I would definitely recommend this place and will for sure come and enjoy a full sit down meal next time we are in Richmond.
Great Secret. Probably not the most visited Thai spot in town, but the best kept secret. This quite restaurant is a perfect place when the weather gets warm. With a great patio and small crowds your guaranteed to get a great seat and an even better meal anytime..
BEST Spring Rolls!. The spring rolls are unbelievable! I would eat them as a meal. By far the best I've ever had. The pad thai and spring with cellophane noodles are also great! I moved to Chicago, but everytime I return to Richmond The Thai Room is my first stop!
Don't Waste Your Money. I had been to this restaurant a couple of years ago and I remember it serving the worst Thai food I have ever had. I went there a couple of weeks ago (against my will) with co-workers and was terribly disappointed again. The previous reviewer states that she's Thai and this was authentic, I totally disagree. I cannot claim to be Thai, but have eaten Thai in Thailand, NYC, DC, San Francisco and Chicago and this was no match. I believe Beauregard's tries too hard to appeal to American sensibilities and along the way, has lost its own authenticity. Sorry for the bad review, but I don't want folks to be mislead.
The Best. I'm Thai myself, and I've been to the Thai Room many times, its like I'm home. The food is authentic, and the place is beautiful, the patio is great on nice days. The service is even better, the employees are Thai and dress in authentic Thai clothing, which is beautiful, they are all really nice and would recommend food if it is your first time eating Thai food. Everyone should eat there, its a great place to go on any occasion.
Simple elegance and one of Richmond's best patios guarantee a great dining experience..
The Scene
The simple elegance of Beauregard's Thai Room is never appreciated enough in Richmond. The upstairs dining room is graciously decorated and tastefully small. You shouldn't have to strain when listening to your dinner companions and you won't here (hear). The best patio in Richmond makes the Thai Room an excellent spot for summer drinks or outside dining.
The Food
A fine place for an upscale dinner or a couple of beers in the downstairs bar. The satay plate and the cashew chicken are out of this world. The Thai Room loves vegeterians with pad thai, great salads and soups, and generous vegetable portions. The ultimate temptation, though, is the homemade ice cream. Chocolate, vanilla and, usually, a wildcard flavor like banana make you feel like a school-kid.
